Interim Survey for a #LinuxMobile FOSDEM talk (https://fosdem.org/2024/schedule/event/fosdem-2024-3303-the-linux-phone-app-ecosystem/), also for #UbuntuTouch and #SailfishOS users
Please reply:
1. What's your favorite app?
2. Do you use more than one UI framework?
3. Do you use Waydroid (or another way to run Android apps)?
4. What apps do you miss? (Do they keep you from daily driving?)
5. Which #MobileLinux distro/OS do you use?
6. Should we add more questions and what would be your answer?
@linuxphoneapps extra #6
What's an app that you regularly use that needs more love for mobile-friendliness: gPodder (probably should switch to different app), firefox (ublock extension controls don't work).
@Idcrafter @linuxphoneapps Does anyone happen to know the name of the package on #postmarketos that provides icons for #KDE apps? It's not very usable with a bunch of blank ui elements.
@zachdecook @Idcrafter @linuxphoneapps i see `kde-default-icon-theme` and `breeze-icons`, not sure if any of those or something else is needed... paging @bart
@craftyguy @bart I have kde-default-icon-theme and breeze-icons5... maybe there's a missing breeze-icons6 package?
@zachdecook @craftyguy If you're not running the KDE nightly repo then you don't need Qt6 packages. And icons don't have a specific Qt5/Qt6 variant anyway, breeze-icons5 will do fine.
Strange though, if you have it installed you shouldn't see any missing icons 🤔
@bart Opened an issue in alpine with screenshots: https://gitlab.alpinelinux.org/alpine/aports/-/issues/15722
@zachdecook Have you tried setting QT_QPA_SYSTEM_ICON_THEME=breeze to force breeze icons? I need to check whether that's still the correct - really should update https://github.com/1peter10/linuxphone-tweaks/blob/main/etc/environment @bart
@linuxphoneapps Didn't seem to work.
@zachdecook @linuxphoneapps there is kasts from kde that is konvergent and also should be able to be used for Podcasts
