I don't want Mastodon to be a place where all I talk about is the continuing demise of Twitter, but...Twitter pulled the plug on all of the top third-party Twitter clients and Twitterrific's Craig Hockenberry has some things to say about it:

For the tool it's possible to build it, and anyone can do so without having to change anything with bird.makeup. Personally I want to focus on scaling bird.makeup itself, so a tool like that would be quite low on my priorities, but if anyone wants to give it a go they are welcome to!

@tzeejay Not sure what you are referring to, but mastodon.social will ban all instances of twitter replicators. You will have to move server if you want to use them

So with the API suspension to third party bird apps, it looks like I'm over here full time. @vincent's bridge service bird.makeup allows me to maintain the curated experience I had over there, & as people flow over to Mastodon, I can follow their native accounts. As a previous Tweetbot user, I'm keen for @paul & co's Ivory Mastodon app, but am sad for all the unseen work put into version 7.2 of Tweetbot which was only out for a handful of days before the API wars began.
@mactenchi It's enabled! You have to chose "make a custom pledge" and it seems to only be on mobile. Thank you !

@jesscourtney You have to check the server policy, but here are the most popular servers that fetch from bird.makeup if you have a vibe-match with one of those:
@jesscourtney Yeah mastodon.social blocks all twitter replicators by policy, if you want to use any of those you will have to move servers
Ok another weird request to help me debug bird.makeup: can you reply to this post with Gifs? (hopefully cute or funny)
I want to see how various servers encode gifs. Bonus point if you can do from something else than mastodon too.

Mastadon admins should make a script that bulk deletes spam posts they can call it a......toot brush
I have a truckload of interesting queries I run on the bird.makeup database. I want to make the result of those available on the website so that the community can enjoy them too.
I've started adding some on https://bird.makeup/About . So for now the number of fediverse users and of followed twitter users. I want to add the list of most followed accounts and the most followed per server too!

Just pushed 2 tweaks to bird.makeup: There is now initial support for QT. In this first iteration, a link is added to the quoted thread. I'll add something more sophisticated later on. Second tweak is to make gifs work correctly
