I know, Telegram isn't good for secure communication, but still.
If you downloaded the Telegram App from the Google Play Store please uninstall it and install the official builds from the website or from F-Droid.

Google has modified the Play Store Build to block certain Channels and the possibility is there that they could also use it to undermine encryption.

Please uninstall the modifed Version from the Play Store.
