@stevenroose @htimsxela @Sosthene @FreePietje id seen some other graphs from sceptics (maybe focusing on that exact period hence clearer). The article i sent you is from the warming camp but they do accept temps went up before co2 at the end of the ice age.
@Sosthene salut sosthene, outre le fait que je peux pas, t’as prevu le prochain atelier au soir de la fete de la musique ! :)
@stevenroose @htimsxela @Sosthene @FreePietje in any case im happy to see bitcoiners applying adversarial thinking to the question. Much needed after the ipcc debacles.
@stevenroose @htimsxela @Sosthene @FreePietje including the end of the last ice age, when humans are believed to have crossed the bering strait on foot, and the medieval warming? In that case we dont have much to worry about for now.
@stevenroose @htimsxela @Sosthene @FreePietje see this : https://www.newscientist.com/article/dn11659-climate-myths-ice-cores-show-co2-increases-lag-behind-temperature-rises-disproving-the-link-to-global-warming/
Its not disputed that temp can rise before co2, though interpretations vary
@htimsxela you have a billion ppl in india who believe in re-incarnation. Probably a few more in other parts of the world The rest of the world has kids. Inter-generational time pref is the natural way under a sound economy :)
@htimsxela low time pref will solve the climate problem (if it is indeed a problem) anyway. It’s a bit hard to destroy the amazon at the current pace if you’re not in a debt based economy.
See https://youtu.be/SAN5CKbZnD0 for starters.
@htimsxela @stevenroose @Sosthene @FreePietje And finally, idk if this is relevant, but isn’t water vapour by far the biggest greenhouse gas in the atmosphere?
@htimsxela @stevenroose @Sosthene @FreePietje On the question of equilibrium there is a talebian fat tail argument which is relevant. But again it’d be good to go back and see what humans have already survived with significantly lesser tech to deal with it. I suspect there’s literally nothing so out of range that we couldn’t figure it out if only the state stopped playing the goat.
@htimsxela @stevenroose @Sosthene @FreePietje on Co2 to the best of my knowledge the historical charts show a rise in temps occurring BEFORE a rise in Co2 levels. Idk how to interpret that though.
@htimsxela @FreePietje @Sosthene the framework is in place for libertarians (even for air pollution) https://mises.org/library/law-property-rights-and-air-pollution
@stevenroose @Sosthene @htimsxela @FreePietje do we even know if rising temps cause higher co2 or its the opposite ?
@Sosthene depends on your circles in fr. There’s some very hard hitting videos on yt abt the greta thing with a good reach. See https://youtu.be/6Jujrmiyn18
@htimsxela @FreePietje @Sosthene libertarians believe that you cant have a tragedy of the commons if property rights can be acquired and enforced.
@FreePietje @Sosthene @htimsxela the "scientists" might agree that the sun revolves arnd the earth. Question is : have you looked into it yourself to the extent possible or are you going by their word? Don’t trust, verify!
@Sosthene @waxwing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbaPAnPDhXQ lots more of this being made. Look up @bitcoin2019conf on tw.
