Planned Parenthood had it coming

I’m sure you’ve heard already that Planned Parenthood announced they will refuse to comply with President Trump’s Protect Life Rule. This means they’ll no longer receive approximately $60 MILLION of our tax dollars each year from our nation’s Title X Family Planning program.

This is a huge win for the Pro-Life Movement. During the campaign, President Trump promised he would defund Planned Parenthood. Last week’s news is a truly significant step towards stripping every last penny of our tax dollars from the biggest abortion business in the nation.

My friend Brad Mattes who heads up our grassroots partner, Life Issues Institute, has written an excellent article on this new development. Planned Parenthood has been blatantly lying about President Trump’s Protect Life Rule. But Brad’s article cuts through the noise and will help you explain to your friends exactly what is going on, and why this is such a win for babies, moms, and taxpayers:

They Had It Coming

This week, Planned Parenthood forfeited $60 million in Title X tax funding instead of getting out of the abortion business. That was their share of a total $286 hundred million earmarked for family planning services.

The president’s Protect Life Rule prevents any entity that provides or refers for abortion from receiving Title X funds.

Is the President’s decision justified? Let’s take a summary look.

Title X dollars are fungible when it comes to abortion. For example, Planned Parenthood abortion facilities use it as a slush fund, spending the money on advertising, staffing, utilities, rent, office supplies or computers. These assets are used to facilitate both family planning services and abortion. The Protect Life Rule draws a bright line between family planning and the abortion industry by excluding entities that refer for or provide abortion.
