Most internet culture (memes, video game mods, "pirating", etc) is a great example of a "Gift Economy" where people contribute to the culture simply because they want to.

People work really hard for no direct gain. Hours of work, for free and little credit.

I was under the mistaken impression that, since I had some extra scrolls of genocide and my strength was maxed out that I could just genocide 'd' and 'H' and have a mostly empty Plane of Fire. All of the Archons. It took literally a week to get to the end of that level.

And then, on the way out, I took off my ring of levitation to grab a gem really quickly and I fell into the lava.
