@stux You are absolutely right. Gab has silenced most of the Fediverse doing the work of those who hate them most for them. It's a more a business for the creator of Gab than about freedom and he doesn't want anyone jumping ship to a better run site with more competent administrators. @GreenLantern@mas.to @KoalaBeans@mstdn.social

@stux Spam or other technical reasons are perfectly legitimate in my opinion to block. If I were an admin I'd probably remove Gab from the TWKN timeline but would remain otherwise federated with them. Sure there are some people with vile opinions on there but that the world. @GreenLantern@mas.to To bad the admin for your instance doesn't. I see a large block list of servers that I suspect are blocked for illegitimate reasons. I suspect a good deal of them are blocked because he's afraid he'll get blocked if he doesn't. Unfortunately some admins make it block or be blocked in some parts of the Fediverse. That's why it's so fragmented. One instance I say was virtually not even a part of the Fediverse their block list was so long. @stux @Talloran @KoalaBeans@mstdn.social

@GreenLantern@mas.to That's true, however some need to realize that there are some things that are more important than somebody's feelings being hurt or petty disagreements. Federation requires the cooperation of everyone despite whatever butthurt there might be. @happynigger The one that comes to mind was an argument a while back around the handling of blocks and how on mastodon it would throw an error or say the account didn't exist when a user would try to look up an account that has blocked them. @stux There's a history or deep technical and personal disagreements between the mastodon and pleroma developers. That's why there is the formation of the two camps and a good deal of animosity. It's all pretty silly looking in from the outside. @cowanon @Talloran @KoalaBeans@mstdn.social
