I've been "paying" for @Mastodon since about 3 years now ($20 each month), and I've started paying an equal share for @regolith since last month.

I believe in free software, in open source and in solidarity over charity, however, the people giving you these choices and the ability to abstain from services run by for-profit, commercial, capitalistic conglomerates need to make a living too ..

Gave a try, I was mixed on whether I agreed with their business model or history, but was intrigued with its method of allowing tips and support to other writers. Now, I'm settled on leaving it to burn... as you can only extract BAT via , and after six weeks and crappy support, I received a generic response that my account is suspended due to KYC violations, no details, and firm wording that it's final, no appeal. So whatever BAT I have/get will go to @write_as
