Thanks for the shoutout!
I am happy that you recommend services from @amolith @tobi @lightweight .
They all provide great services and are all responsible admins!
I can also recommend https://snopyta.org/ - Snopyta provides a vast range of services too!
@privacysafe Using #Zoom? Seriously? :)

If you do not know Mark Lanegan, now is a good time to check him out.
Awesome live studio performance. Not sure what style of music this is, but it reminds me a bit of Johnny Cash.
I set up my own #Jitsti server on the cheapest #Linode money can buy ($5/mo). I was really surprised how easy it was. I've only done small tests with one other person, but so far it looks like it performs really well.
The amount of time it took to provision the server, set up the DNS record, install Jitsi, and start testing was probably under 30 minutes. No troubleshooting required. The install went exactly like the tutorial said it would.
When even the BBC is criticising Zoom, you know it's not just greenie anarchist human-rights-defending geeks complaining...

And another worry about Zoom giving your data to Facebook:

@okennedy notifications have an established (and documented) cross desktop API. Generic lock screen plugins need more thought both code and design wise so we want to collect some use cases that can't be done via notifications first.

@fatboy @dpreacher If you like invidious, you may also like nitter. It’s an alternative frontend for twitter.
There is an firefox addon called Invidition which redirects all traffic to those services.
@MrChainman A must-read if you're asking questions about compiler development. That's one of the best texts about programming I've ever seen: "Reflections on Trusting Trust" by Ken Thomson https://dl.acm.org/doi/pdf/10.1145/358198.358210
You can use Tracking Token Stripper browser extension, or ClearURLs browser extension to do this automatically.

Note: Both are listed on Awesome Humane Tech, where you'll find many more nice goodies (:

“We want to investigate the ecosystem of data exploitation, and we don’t think we can do that while shackled to it. And so we make a privacy promise to you, our readers: We will not track you.”
A media organisation that’s leading on privacy. This is SO COOL.
