Perhaps it's time that Linux Mint spin it's own distro out of Debian, instead of relying on Ubuntu, and then modifying the hell out of that into yet something completely different from Ubuntu??

Can't say that I know anything about Pureos.
I'm just saying that it seems that they go through a lot of effort to undo a lot of what Canonical does.
