@pkimpton well owncloud-sync was always a bit freaky here and drained my battery. Plus, you don't need a server running, because it is decentralized.
@pkimpton of want to sync it try out syncthing. I use it to keep my stuff synced and it is fine and open source
Interested in #privacy and which #trackers are used by your #android apps? I found #exodusprivacy. They also have an Android app that shows results for your installed apps. Very interesting.
But what does it tell me? What information is collected? Well I don't know.

@pkimpton I use some of them also. Nice programs, but due to the privacy included sometimes a bit to few functions. Send as you were caught deep in the Google jungle... :)
@pkimpton next hint from me. For doing online backups I really like restic. Really nice tool for encrypted backups
@pkimpton and as it has 3 Ethernet devices you can use it to build dmz and gateways
@pkimpton I have an APU2 running for network services. Neat device
@pkimpton but remember that Ethernet on the raspberry uses internally USB which makes it not the best choice for a Fileserver. The interface has not the power you could expect.
@pkimpton what are you doing? Want get rid of Google and switch to Dropbox?
@blabber Wow 🤔 Ich habe spontan echt das Gefühl, dass DAS wirklich eine unnötige Institution ist....
@bazurk to be honest, when I used xmpp I had my own server running. If you have the skills this a no big job and using a vserver you get it starting at $2,50.
Otherwise you could have a look here https://xmpp.org/getting-started/
@bazurk Right, as you say: A minority :)
