@vantablack No, it's not a violent act.
@pinkprius Which is pretty much how I see contemporary society. We live in a badly developed anarchist situation in which the biggest gang has taken over and have declared that it is not an anarchist situation – that it is a capitalist or a communist situation. But I tend to think that anarchy is the most natural form of politics for a human being to actually practice."
Alan Moore

@pinkprius "I believe that all other political states are in fact variations or outgrowths of a basic state of anarchy; after all, when you mention the idea of anarchy to most people they will tell you what a bad idea it is because the biggest gang would just take over. (1/2)
@pinkprius There's no system. "System" implies some kind of controlled structure and order. There's no system, there's a heterogenous foam. The foam is comprised of millions of homo sapiens sapiens, each doing random crazy shit in order to not die from the onslaught of random crazy shit.
@pinkprius There is no system.
@Gargron The app just uses the Internet.
@fribbledom Is the approval of others something you ordinarily worry about?
@fribbledom The term "open source" was coined in order to refer to freely licensed software while explicitly avoiding the ethical and social issues of user freedom. If you're talking about freedom then you're explicitly outside the realm of "open source" and you're in the realm of "free software".

@hntooter This isn't decentralised at all. Idiots.
@mattedgar Looks like a dressed up appeal for free labour.
@clacke I'll repeat myself:
Can I suggest that you take the time to lay out your complaints clearly, in depth and with supporting references? Possibly using a medium that isn't bound by character limits and doesn't engender low signal-to-noise ratios? Your complaints might then be less likely to be dismissed as jumping on the bandwagon of irrational appeals to outrage.
"Measuring the impact and quality on peoples lives beyond the shallow meaningless metrics for public service is critical."
Umm...
"Measuring ... beyond the shallow meaningless metrics"
Umm...
"Measuring ... beyond the ... metrics"
