@boilingsteam I hope not, x86 is at least somewhat open, while Arm is really locked down. Imagine having to flash computers like phones, possibly bricking them in the process, just to install a new/different OS.

@boilingsteam i played through Horizon Zero Dawn using Proton, pretty nice experience except 1mission that is super crashy for some reason.

@strider@mast.linuxgamecast.com just wanted to say I read all of this and it is great to see a different perspective. For me wayland doesn't work simply because the DEs I use don't support it. But now I see why those traditional DEs might not work on a port just yet.
Can't help, but wonder if Mir would've been better. (Not the current version of Mir, but the original idea.)

@pm@fosstodon.org it makes shutting down as slow as it is in Windows 7 by default. Maybe not on every machine, just the ones I tried it on.

@strider@mast.linuxgamecast.com for the last GUI app I made, I used Godot engine. I wish gui toolkits were just as easy to use.
