In the recent macOS Big Sur release, Apple placed 56 of its own apps, such as FaceTime and Apple Maps, on an exclusion list allowing them to bypass firewalls and certain VPNs without users’ knowledge. This seriously undermines macOS users’ security and privacy.
After thorough examination, we confirm that on ProtonVPN’s macOS app, no traffic is excluded from the encrypted VPN tunnel when Kill Switch is enabled (including Apple apps’ traffic). More details here: https://protonvpn.com/blog/big-sur-exclusion-list/

Based on @craftyguy 's #osk-sdl work i added cryptsetup-initramfs support to the #librem5's image-builder so one can build #luks encrypted images too. There's more work needed for this to hit the factory floor but at least one can build own images with encryption once all is merged. The video shows the devkit since this a bit simpler to debug over serial:

If you're still undecided which console to go with this generation, people have figured out that they can float ping-pong balls on the Series X vent... so I think we have a clear winner.
I thought I got out of bed to use my MacBook. Nope. Software needed an update. Required reboot and now the OS is updating 30 minutes remaining. I’ll be buying not #apple this holiday season.
I guess I only need 4-5 hours of sleep today. Can’t call back asleep. Sounds like I will be napping later.
