Cool, got LibreOffice on my laptop integrated with NextCloud's WebDAV.

Now I can edit documents from my desktop, mobile, or the web interface, and the document data should update without any problems.

This is good progress. 😎

@mpanhans the whole desktop domain model employed by Windows (and forced upon any Macs & Linux machines that want to participate) and the VPN/RDP practice are all extremely heavy & dated. A modern org should be 100% web based in its systems (fully client-server), including file sharing (if they insist on using shared filesystems, they should use WebDAV with something like NextCloud. A file sync option is also there). Really clever organisations will have a "single source" policy w/ git :)

@theprivacyfoundation Relatedly, last year Chris Cox left Facebook over Zuckerberg's pivot to encryption. Cox thought encryption made it harder to filter out fake news, hate speech, detect human trafficking. If Cox had won and Facebook had not pivoted to encryption, and Facebook's tools would not be able to be used for human trafficking, wouldn't we be in a better world?

I have a sincere question for @theprivacyfoundation and the community. The DOJ announced it's investigating Senator Richard Burr, who sold off $1.7m in stock before the coronavirus crash, while assuring the public it was under control. His brother-in-law sold off too. Search warrants were used to collect data from his iCould account and cell phone. With encryption, it would be hard to investigate this case. Privacy makes it harder to root out corruption. What's the response?

I wonder if @purism would consider hosting instances of other fediverse applications with its bundle? Librem Social is a great Twitter alternative. Users are also trying to find alternatives to Facebook and Instagram, and hosting instances of software like Friendica and PixelFed alongside Librem Social would be a convenient and useful package.
