Really, I meant it. Please at least try to. I wish to be wrong rather than trying to find programatic way to split the OS and architecture in

* manylinux2014_x86_64, manylinux_2_24_i686
* macos_10_9_x86_64, macos_10_9_i386, macos_10_9_intel (and what are those fat{64,32,} even?)
* win32, win_amd64

I know that I will have to have to go with the hardcoded way, but does anyone even know the tags for the *BSD and other *nix?

Show thread

Python wheels' platform tags are confusing and has zero standardization. The reference and only parser implementation packaging.tags is even more difficult to cope with. Change my mind!

reminder: the US has $400 billion USD to pay defense contractors for a vaporware fighter plane (2.3x bezos' net worth, and more than bezos+musk's net worths put together), but doesn't have enough space (in texas, lol) to hold unaccompanied children, so they have decided to break the law and hold them beyond the legal limit in concentration camps.

In the past 48 hours I've seen "If you use a tiling window manager you're probably a racist toxic fossbro", "if you support FOSS you're likely a liberal or a toxic fossbro", "If you use emacs you're part of the problem" and uh...

Can we just stop putting people in bins based on what tools they use and, more likely, what they had available to them when they first learned how to interact with tech?

Y'all stressing me out because I've seen these funny little takes go viral and become zeitgeist material.

The problem was not exactly in Go, found and fixed it (-;

Having users proficient in the technology used to build your software must be nice. For instance, instead of fixing the bug messing up whitespaces in quoted emails in aerc, I simply worked around it via a shell script due to my lack of confidence in Go.

@sneak "danger" is an argument to put him on a no-fly list or bar him from setting foot within 500ft of an elementary school." In reality the sentiment is: he's gross, he's annoying, we don't like him. The authors of that letter are drama queens of a higher magnitude than #rms, elevating their aesthetic displeasure to a solemn warning about the dangers of some guy they resent. "Profiles in Courage" it is not.

i think that the behaviour of #rms can be criticized, but the methods used today are fucking disgusting. single persons getting steamrolled by thousands with accusations, public dismantling of their person, and calls for instant action. it's a mob eagerly awaiting the next public hanging.
