I always wonder what's up with HiDPI screens though, it costs more energy and processing power, and doesn't work perfectly on any platform involving web browsing. Especially for tiny stuff like mobile phones, where I've heard of 4K devices being sold.

My personal suggestion for you though, @florian, is to buy a big screen with normal DPI to use at home. I'm in my early 20s and I can't even stand my 144 DPI laptop screen for a long period of time—my new 1920x1080 23" external monitor is a life-saver: I can even crank the terminal font size up to 15 and lived a blessed life ever since.

That 12" screen is actually 245 DPI. As someone growing up in the 21st century, I'd consider 96 DPI as the standard, so probably a 2.5x or 3x scale would be much better, since I suspect your age would make you sit further from the screen.

I'm using awesome too and I also don't think it's easy to have HiDPI set up on X11. The good thing about awesome is that you can crank up all of the widgets, but e.g. GTK+ and Qt are more difficult to get to look nice.

Oops, @mike (-; My eyesight is really failing LOL

Private companies can exclude who they want. But the closer you get to the Internet's core infrastructure, the more troubling those exclusions become. eff.org/deeplinks/2021/01/beyo

Hey how is your progress preaching our mutual friends to the fed, @huy_ngo?

I'm sorry for being lazy to look it up, but what is @fosstodon source of income to have $200k in the first place to donate?

Maybe you should make it safe to turn on your computer too

I don't, @kushal. Not by preference, but rather because I'm not part of any project requiring it and I'm too lazy to set up and maintain keys across devices.

Do you sign your git commits? Please share for more reach.

I'd argue that all services would require an account buy I see your other points, @Seirdy. Indeed the key-per-device thing really degrades the UX, sometimes I wish it can be as easy to manage keys as PGP.

@Seirdy, while I feel the your struggle, I want to mention that there are plenty of user-friendly @matrix clients now, e.g. Element which is plug-and-play.

@huy_ngo, meanwhile I'm having my whole day feeling terrible because I spent most of my serotonin while interacting with the group yesterday.

No worries, @huy_ngo, my DHL package is still stuck in the US and A. BTW here is my gorgeous UN40PSA *happy buckling spring noises*

Someone needs to improve the 's rear camera's focus driver though, not me because I don't know shit about how lower-level software works. I don't even know if the problem is with the driver but there are people who were able to take shape pictures so it's not an hardware issue.

It arrives a bit latter than scheduled but I'm happy nevertheless *throw lots of confetti*

Ah. You're a programmer and don't like timezones. Yet you still celebrate at your local midnight. I see. Very interesting.
