@marc0s I also am looking to learn more before diving in to Pleroma or Akkoma … and also need to have different endpoint/UI and address hostnames.

@gerwitz Akkoma and (since yesterday's develop branch) Pleroma support different hostnames for the actors and the instance URL. See this Akkoma docs https://docs.akkoma.dev/stable/configuration/how_to_serve_another_domain_for_webfinger/
