hey ! I'm planning on my instance and was thinking of , me being interested in . Is there any way to have my user as @marcos@example.org (like my email my xmpp jid, ...) while having example.org dedicated to existing stuff? I expected to be able to run pleroma at social.example.org. But anything I've found related to this, are rejected MRs at gitlab. Any help is appreciated! 😊

@marc0s oh #Elixir, nice.

There are more Elixir Fedivers projects. I co-maintain a list of apps:

delightful.club/delightful-fed

Very cool one: @bonfire

And there's #Akkoma which is a fork of Pleroma to consider. This lives at: akkoma.dev/AkkomaGang/akkoma

@humanetech are you aware of any kind of post explaining the rationale of the fork?

@marc0s

Phew.. I have seen something, but don't remember where.

Btw, did you receive my DM?

@humanetech erm.. I don't think I've received any DM. I'm afraid they're disabled in this instance 😔

@marc0s one thing I was curious about was if you are doing elixir development already, or is it a new language. And some of your experiences.

@humanetech I've been learning it since a while now, in my free time. Just toying around with it but pretty interested in it

@marc0s I also am looking to learn more before diving in to Pleroma or Akkoma … and also need to have different endpoint/UI and address hostnames.

Please share any findings!

@gerwitz Akkoma and (since yesterday's develop branch) Pleroma support different hostnames for the actors and the instance URL. See this Akkoma docs docs.akkoma.dev/stable/configu
