Before I go to sleep, I always read a bit. Our cat Mimo didn't agree with that and wanted some attention...
Check out the rendering of Pilet 5! It's our new, more compact 5-inch variant of the Pilet. We're expecting to have a working prototype in just a few days. This model is designed with manufacturability, ergonomics, and compactness in mind, while still packing the same 7-hour battery life as its bigger counterpart.
Sonja har ett nytt favoritställe, men vi vågar inte tala om för henne att det är tillfälligt. 😬

#Putin continues centralisation of power in #Russia, summary by Russia Election Monitor:
By the end of the fall, the State Duma will adopt a bill on municipal reform. According to the bill, by 2028 all rural and urban settlements should be merged into municipal or urban districts, and their councils and administrations should be liquidated, - Vedomosti wrote.
As a result of the reform, Russia will have only three elected levels of government - federal, regional and district (municipal). The councils that existed below the district level - city and village councils - will be eliminated. The elimination of city and village councils and administrations means that the local residents are deprived of the most accessible and understandable elected bodies.
Personal comment: rural and urban district councils were the highest level of Russian system where some actual democracy was allowed and people could have been actually elected. This was because Kremlin believed that challenges such as installation of park porches or planting trees were uncontroversial politically and not attractive from financial point of view. From 2028 even this will be taken under strict party control.
Fellow Russia watchers may have seen this screenshot making the rounds today. It’s from the anon founder of the online library Flibusta — a treasure trove of pirated literature. “Stiver” says he is dying and the project is ending. Here’s the backstory: https://meduza.io/en/brief/2024/09/25/the-real-russia-today
And here the (first cut at a) Fediverse “gradient” logo from my #lasttoot which I reproduced from memory (and because the OP from ±a year ago used a proprietary vector editor) today by hand-editing XML+SVG. Attached as transparent bitmap, the scalable file can be downloaded as well.
Suggestions for improvements welcome… and I need to search for the toot from the person who did it (or something like it which I vaguely recalled) first, for proper credits.
(Also, Eukombos says they are “co-creator” of the (nōn-gradient) #Fediverse logo, but who are the other creators then? They did licence theirs as CC0, so I felt fine basing this on that, but…)

Just in case: DMs/PMs simply don't exist on this instance as concept — don't use them, use the other instance if you absolutely have to, or send an email to any address at m0xEE.Net or .Com or .Org, but I prefer keep most communication public.
