Then ChatGPT came along and blown them out of their water — it's like they had no research in that field at all. With Microsoft it's particularly surprising — they have completely shutdown Cortana and replaced it with GPT-based COPilot despite having been experimenting with neural networks for nearly two decades — they've had NN-based image recognition services you could subscribe to, but somehow not LLMs 🤷

AFAIR there were some easter eggs like that, but normally it wouldn't — it wasn't even THAT good yet, couldn't even hold conversation on ChatGPT level.
I'm kinda surprised even: MS with Cortana, Apple with Siri and Amazon with Alexa — they already had things to work with, people liked those assistants, but after some time they've stopped developing this direction entirely.

You could have "Cortona GF" in Windows 8 — but then they got it removed as with every other good thing there ever was in Windows.
And with Windows 11, they've come full circle — it's Windows XP again, but with more stupid ads, more shit being forced on you and now with "AI" shit too 😩
