If you're an audio engineer, or in networking, this might be the carpet from hell

Ой, да ладно «разработали», наверняка из Северной Кореи привезли 🤭

@Hyolobrika @binkle
In Russia a lot of people — most probably are still unaware of the amount of taxes they are contributing as those are well concealed and people are made to think that it's their employer who is paying these.

But I don't get it when Americans do it and get it to a much lesser degree get it when Europeans do it.

@Hyolobrika @binkle
I get it when people from ex-Soviet and "Eastern Bloc" countries get pissed about this wording using "free" — you still encounter this a lot in Russia: "USSR had free housing",— yeah, people were severely underpaid, were getting literal pennies, but were provided with a "free" concrete box in a commie block 😩

@ThatCrazyDude
Yeah, that ear thing was… pretty weird! 😅
And this… citing that dude who has managed to escape to safety: "I hope it would be just military occupation with no civilian casualties, people would keep hiding in their cellars until our glorious army arrives and wipes the town off the face of the earth" 🤯

Now imagine being married: even less time, even more responsibilities — still sounds exciting?

We aren't really representative of what the average working person is and might simply be unaware of what challenges said person is facing. Sure, health is important. You know it, I know it — enables you to enjoy more things and enjoy them longer. But what the motivation for our average person would be? Enjoy more grind? 😏

Corporate overlords? I'm not even employed at the moment: I can enjoy cooking all day everyday and still have time left to spend on Fedi 😂
But even when I was, I could afford way more than an average person could. Let's not forget that at least three of us aren't married and work in the field where the amount of effort you put into your work might cause a lot of stress, but also gets disproportionately rewarded.

Firefox got ported to Haiku:

It's most probably not without issues, and I doubt it's as reliable as it is on more mainstream operating systems, but it's impressive nonetheless!

@threat
Yeah, with proper discipline that is definitely possible, most people suck at time management. But I don't think they were better at it a few decades ago — yet, it didn't contribute to health deterioration that much.
@dick @adiz @newt

@dick
What are you talking about? I'm not "complaining", I can cook and I have the time, but I can see where this problem is coming from. Not everyone enjoys cooking and blaming the people who want to spend the little time they have left on something else is a shitty take, same as "just do not be poor", "just be healthy". Lifestyle didn't change that much, even fast-food didn't appear yesterday out of nowhere and it wasn't such a problem, so maybe something else has contributed.

Well, that's a lot if you don't have plenty of time!
A lot of people don't have company-provided lunches and they can't afford having a lunch at a Cafe if they are saving every penny — they have to cook their lunch too. And breakfast — you can of course not have it, but if you're eating bad food irregularly, that's even worse.
All in all — a lot of time! Most prefer to spend it on their hobbies.
