@unspeaker
OMG, this looks exciting! 🤩
I'm a huge fan of both: Live and TUI software. Looking forward to what you can do with this.
I wish I could help and contribute, I have some (mostly theoretic) knowledge of signal processing and audio programming, but I don't feel confident enough with Rust yet.

I was looking through the logs on Breloma, I see a ping from your instance and I have this though that I haven't seen your posts on the timeline in a while. I started wondering if your instance and this one are federating properly, so I open your account on your instance to look what's up and see this post! It was only 2 seconds (!) old at that moment. That was really funny 😆

The latest ones are based on RISC-V research, but still… why would he use that? 😱
It's actually Loongson BTW, not Long-soon 🤣
But I just call it Long Dong — easier to remember 😏

In 1993 this case was developed into a hip-hop album.

@iska
With pipewire it might be more complex, but I don't see why you should use it at all when you can build all your software without it — just use plain ALSA and apulse for Firefox if you want microphone input.

@iska
If I were you, I won't be putting that… thing on a server. Or anywhere. Ever 😆
But this is your hardware.
I've never had any issues with sound — just make sure the module for your hardware gets built with the kernel 🤷
But was using it long before PulseAudio and friends became a thing. In fact, ALSA was still something relatively new at the time 👴

@kaia , look! A thing that combines two of your "hobbies": decodeinvesting.com/chat
I haven't used it myself so I can't recommend it — or against it, but was featured on HNews.

@i_lost_my_bagel
I've rebuilt LLVM at least 5 times today 😩

@david
I'd be praying for it to not be the latest HP printer 😅

@lain @kaia @bartholin
Do LLMs dream of electric…^W^W^W have a psychological type? 🤔

@rdr @kirby
All right then, if he's resting, I'll wake him up: Hello, mr. Polly Parrot! I've got a lovely fresh cuttle fish for you! 🤣

Google Chrome warns uBlock Origin may soon be disabled

As it was written, so it begins.

There is no Manifest v3 compatible uBlock Origin. It is simply not possible.
Firefox has its problems and its controversies and plenty of dumb decisions, but Manifest v3 is not one of them. Going forward, some variant of Firefox will be your only bet if you want robust ad-blocking extensions.
A PiHole can only get you so far. Unless you want to run a full traffic intercepting proxy at home with SSL decryption, you need something at the application layer.
