А WhatsApp я перестал пользоваться кажется ещё до поглощения их Facebook, когда это ещё не называлось Meta 🤣

Несомненно — но ведь у меня WhatsApp, Telegram и «истории в YouTube» и так нет, так что подозрение я вызову в любом случае. Про законность этой херни вообще молчу — это словно можно давно уже было забыть 😩

Интересно что на выезде творится, наверное придётся образы внутренних носителей в телефоне и компьютере шифровать и заливать куда-нибудь, чтобы показать им девственно-чистые устройства, а по приезду восстанавливать. Не вызовет ли это ещё большее подозрение?

And in fact, I didn't get rid of the dependency entirely — they have libwebp in-tree and they didn't make it easy to disable it at build time even, that would require quite a bit more work. I just undid the commit that made it non-optional and brought back the image.webp.enabled preference. Essentially, the code is still there, it just lays dormant.

I have a pretty severe case of allergy to all things Google and prefer to have as little in my system as possible, besides I don't see the point in either it or VP9 when JPEG XL and AV1 exist already. I didn't put too much time into configuring it, much more into getting familiar with how zfs is managed, and most of what I did is under /home anyway — I've put that on a separate volume in accordance with the handbook.
Hopefully, it won't take much time to redo the base system re-installation — it seems to me that it's a matter of clearing the volume that is used as root — but I'm just not sure how to do that with zfs😅

I've spent the most part of today getting rid of Mac OS X on my Mac Pro, which was occupying two disks in mirrored RAID, for good, and installing Void… on ZFS!
And now, when I'm almost there — at least I can run Lagrange under Sway, I attempt to install my carefully crafted Firefox 124 without WebPee support and come to a painful realisation: "Architecture not supported"😱
Damn, I always forget not only the fact that GLibC flavour of Void exists, but that e.g. x86_64 without -musc is IT!!!🤬

Doesn't look too bad on the inside TBH — much like my 2011 MacBook Pro.
What's wrong with the wireless card it has now, does it have an old chip and is just slow or is it something exotic with buggy drivers?
Damn, I've never seen these things soldered-in! I'm way behind the times when it comes to current hardware trends, and I'm pretty damn sure — there are way nastier surprises for me to discover 😅
