You're missing one very important detail: the are stupid enough to not understand how this works. And Pooteen nowadays only listens to those who tell him pleasant things and report about successes, among those who do that, there are none of those who understand how economy works even remotely — otherwise he wouldn't have even started the whole endeavor.

“AI” as currently hyped is giant billion dollar companies blatantly stealing content, disregarding licenses, deceiving about capabilities, and burning the planet in the process.
