@honkwerx You have a bear in your party. But do you have vodka potions, matrioshka doll and balalaika in your inventory? 😏

I'd also strongly advise to report it as scam. I've read somewhere that they've been trying to take the name of some other app popular at the time. What was its name? 🤔
Doesn't matter — now they got renamed to this X, but it still looks like obvious scam 😏

@ThatCrazyDude
Own the place? Wow! It's hard for westerner to imagine how laughable are propery (or any) rights in Russia are! And that this "owning the place" still implies paying out mortgage with rates so high, that the only leisure you'd likely be able to afford is on the couch in front of the TV 😩
@psyix

@ThatCrazyDude
Oh, that too, when I see people complaining: "OMG, they are going to make me live in a pod",— I think: alrite, that "pod" is probably still going to be bigger than average Russian's place, even in Moscow 🤪
But the worst part is if they ask lower-middle class Russian about it, he'll come up with something like: "Well, yeah, it's nothing posh, but at least I own the place"
@psyix

@psyix Yes, it's not in schools, but we have "patriotic education", but it's not what right-leaning westerner expects it to be.
On top of that you always question your sense of reality: "Maybe I do see things more grim than they are? There are others who are more optimistic",— but then you remind yourself that these "optimists" tend to believe media myths as if their friend had told them that. And you think to yourself: no, I'm fine after all 😂
@ThatCrazyDude

@psyix
Exactly! You are never sure about how things are perceived — you tell westerner about what you think are horrible things and he responds with something: "Oh, come on, it's not that bad, at least you don't have this left-wing agenda",— and no, we have that as well, in addition to other things, it's not like you walk the streets and are surrounded by tradcon loli wives, we have feminists with dyed hair, we have folks who are into queer-communism.
@ThatCrazyDude

@ThatCrazyDude
— Huh, some politician in the US got bribed! They are just like us!
— Dude, some cop boss got arrested with what could've been a budget of a medium-sized town. It was just last week and that wasn't the most outrageous case in history, just the most recent bust!
— Oh, what do you know about that? Maybe they have that too, we just don't know about that
🤦

@ThatCrazyDude
> imagine, if you will, you live in Russia
Very low bar, dude! Very low bar! 😂
It's funny, but that's exactly how they make life in Russia look better than it is. Remember the trucker protests in Canada and they've been saying: "A-ha! They don't have free speech too, maybe Canada isn't any better" — and you tell people that they don't even remotely have the level of freedom of Canada, but it falls on deaf ears.

@fluffykittenspambot
😺: Look, I think they are filming us

@useless_idiot War had been going on for like 2 years and people are still sitting in cafes, both in Germany and in e.g. Paris — people do it all the time, there will be guests in cafes even as bombs are falling, it's just a cope mechanism, not a real indicator that everything's okay.

@useless_idiot So I naturally get worried — turned out, she was attending some lecture. And she's not exactly clueless, I've set up a VPN for her so she can read the real news, not the bullshit they feed us.
Most don't have a slightest clue. A friend of mine who now lives in Spain tells me: "You always paint it black, but others aren't like that, they remain positive, look — they are attending the cafes".
So I had to show her some WW2 footage.

@useless_idiot Yeah, Moscow's huge, bigger than some European states. Considering the density population the way they carry out those drone strikes is nearly surgical — it definitely worked as demonstration that we're vulnerable, but from what I know, few actual people got injured.
People are also mostly clueless — that doesn't feel right, but it contributes to the calm. Hell, my own mother went downtown right on the morning of Prigozhin's mutiny, I call her and she doesn't pick up.

Анна Нетребко подала в суд на Метрополитен-оперу. В марте 2022-го театр разорвал отношения с оперной певицей из-за ее отказа публично осудить действия Путина

@kravietz I totally get it, when people appeal to court as a last-ditch attempt at saving their ass, but when press does it, they keep up the myth that society here operates under a semblance of law. It does not!

@kravietz
> I intentionally avoid verbs like "sentenced", as the decision had nothing to do with courts
This is what always irks me "we are going to appeal", "if this legislation is passed…" — what lawyers, what legislations. Mercenaries were always illegal and yet, one prominent PMC never leaves the headlines. There is no law in this godforsaken country 😩
