No, you can leave the links intact, I'm not some "below 4kb" purist — but at least make the input field the first thing you see, so you don't have to navigate to it.
I mean, I can always bookmark something like https://www.mojeek.com/search?q=%20 — in this case the search field is on top, but I think that it's not the right way™ to do it.

My old cat had loved the curtain thing, the ones I have now are even "better" at it: they just sit in the open and pretend they are invisible so they could do a sneak attack on you. If you pretend you don't see them, it gets even worse — they start making cat noises, they hate it when their ambush goes unnoticed 😹

@lain But I of course agree with other points of yours and that the whole topic was hugely overblown. We don't really depend on Facebook in any way, Fedi is self-sufficient and will likely remain that way.

@lain I think what most were fearing was that people on Fedi would start relying on federation with Facebook to communicate with their family and friends who weren't on Fedi, but were on Facebook ("Threads", whatever) and as soon as Zuckerman closes that valve they'd have to make Facebook accounts they don't have now and by extension start being less active here. Same as what Google.Talk did to Jabber. That's what "embrace, extinguish" was about, and we didn't even get to that phase yet

@lain @teknomunk Aren't those still separate from Insta and WhatsApp accounts? Honest question, I use neither and don't know how they even count them.

@rvps2001 Looks like Insider does a very good job tranlating their articles in English shortly after they come out in Russian. It used to take them at least a couple of days, but I've been reading this article in Russian just this morning after discovering it in my RSS feed — interesting stuff.

@lina TBH I only have vague recollection of what Minami-ke was about — not that it's important when it comes to slices of life, but I also have zero recollection of Kill-la-Kill, despite the fact that I've been watching it when it was airing. I do remember the cast, but not even the major plot turns: I remember it was about uniforms, I remember them being on a huge ship before the final battle — or did that come from Evangelion remake?🤔
