@gordoooo_z I don't even know why I made it mostly black, this phone doesn't have an AMOLED display, it's IPS — I could as well go with gray-ish (that's the color scheme I use on my computers) and it would have been easier, but I just felt like it. On home screen the only colorful thing is background which is very minimalist and I like it this way. Last time I touched it was when I upgraded to Android 12.1 and google (expected) ruined an otherwise perfect UI so I had to do some quirks again 😩

@gordoooo_z Yup, I strive for the same kind of minimalism. My background is the same image I have as my avatar. All my computers are "branded" with it, the phone has its boot logo replaced with it, and it even has a boot animation based on it — with audio, an excerpt from my track 🤩
I only own this phone for a year and this is my first Android phone (being a huge Google-hated I've avoided it for as long as I could) so it took a lot of effort to make it bearable to look at for me 😏

@fluffykittenspambot Does this really has no image attached or is it just me? 🤔

@neural_meduza Вы потише об этом 🤫
А то ещё примут меры…

@moffintosh Sorry, it was obviously not addressed to you personally and it's not even the main topic of the article you've posted the link to. Just my thoughts, I don't get such points at all and get all agitated for no good reason 😅

@moffintosh
> Yet it has also been shrouded in controversy, not least because missions include assassinating an Iranian general clearly based on Qassem Soleimani
Bashing US is fine and dandy, but should I really sumpathize that monster? I don't think so. Did Trump do it for the good of all mankind — also doubtful, he did it to win some support back, clearly he's a populist, but does this make Iranian general worth pity? No, I just don't care if the world got rid of him.

@gordoooo_z In case I find myself in the mood for some MPC-style drumming, I have this M-Audio Trigger Finger lying around — again, it's not a synth, just a MIDI controller, but it's very comfortable to use with Live and its built-in drums.
Highly recommended as a controller BTW — the sturdiest thing I have ever owned, it lived through years of use in harsh conditions and it's still good as new! Maybe the pads got a bit less sensitive, but maybe it's my perception 🤔

@gordoooo_z Yes, no mistake, this one! Mind you, it's not a bad device, it just didn't suit me. Maybe I'm not a hardware guy 🤷
In the end I came to using only Ableton Live and only built-in instruments with a few exceptions written in Max/MSP running as VSTs (Live and Max weren't integrated at the time, they announced the merger in a year sine I started using them together, I was a visionary in a way 😂)
Then I took a long break and now I'm trying to get into music again.

@gordoooo_z
> I really thought I'd just search for a Classic Mac theme and be done with it in a few minutes 😭
Happens to me all the time! Especially on the phone — I really hate Android defaults so I just change this little thing… and you find yourself several hours later re-themeing everything 😂
But not the phone only, I'll just change that tint of green to a different one… Fsck, these no longer work together at all, I have to redo it from the ground up 🤣
And Sway isn't really too themeable!

@gordoooo_z Ha-ha, MC303 was perfect for that! Maybe it's a part of its appeal, ESX-1 is a very versatile machine and maybe because you can do literally anything some things are not very straightforward, MC303 on the other hand is very limited, it's what they call a ROMpler, you can't upload new samples into it, but the ones it has work perfectly, once you have used it, you start recognizing it a lot especially in all sorts of experimental music.

@Rezard Ну на самом деле ничего особо глупого в этом нет — это же ради эффекта. Клиппинг или что там… 🤔

I've always been wondering if there is something like that on Gemini. Now I know there is, and it looks amazing!

My personal TUI favourites:
gomuks the Matrix client (github.com/tulir/gomuks)
tut the Fedi/Masto client (github.com/RasmusLindroth/tut)
and amfora the Gemini browser (github.com/makew0rld/amfora)
All of them are written in Go so they are really easy to build if your platform is supported by Go.

Whoah! 😲

@theorytoe They decided to let you off the hook for once. But only this time 🤫

@gordoooo_z Not my cup of tea — too "retro" to me, but I think your mix blends well, there is something about it that makes it look consistent 👍

@gordoooo_z No, I think ESX-1 is the one I had. I got it off a friend of a friend when he was selling his older equipment, but I didn't keep it for long myself, a couple of years maybe. The knob thing is perfect for tweaking, but I didn't have much fun programming it, maybe just not my cup of tea. On the other hand I did like using MC303, maybe I was just more motivated to use it when I had it — hard to tell 🤷
