@icedquinn
Don't be — it will have the same problems as with AI-generated visual art, and that is not extra fingers 😁
While AI excels at generating something that bears semblance of something human-made… And a lot of people are probably fine with that: "Well, this looks like art! This sounds like music!" But there is no idea behind it. Smaller details might be there, but there is no consistency among them — they are purely random.
@moffintosh

@gordoooo_z I think you will like Chimera then. It's a new distro from the one who had maintained a PowerPC for of Void Linux. It's not there yet in terms of user-friendliness and is in active development. It's in the vein of Void and it uses Alpine's package manager.

@gordoooo_z Well, maybe @chimera_linux will make these computers useful again. Daniel already did a tremendous work with PowerPC for of Void that I'm still running on my MacMini G4 and PowerMac G5. So I'm looking forward to this new project.
Currently there are no binary distros supporting this hardware so you have to build a lot of stuff yourself and hardware is dated to say the least so it takes a lot of time. Of course you can always cross-compile of more performant hardware — part of fun 😁

@gordoooo_z Well give it another try maybe. For me it went super-smooth, considering the hardware, the fact that I had to build if myself from Git source — there obviously are no OTP builds for PPC. And the fact that I had to build Elixir myself because there no longer are any binary updates to Void PPC. At least the template file for that was done not by me 😅

@gordoooo_z I strongly advise you not to. Using old PowerPC Mac today for anything meaningful is a massive PITA and not for the faint of the heart.
Here are my rambling on what it is like: breloma.m0xee.net/notice/ATDA0
Hosted on one of these older Macs 😁

@gordoooo_z What was your problem with Pleroma. For me everything went smoothly, despite the fact that I'm running it on an olde MacMini G4 😅
Tuning things so it's not painfully slow was a challenge this hardware can hardly be considered mainstream, but other then that it worked as expected.

@theorytoe Good night!
Is that Shinobu wearing crocks?🤨

Будет ли теперь светящаяся картопля на крышках ноутбуков? 😆

@vftdan No, nothing comes to mind. Maybe you can make the computer act as DLNA media playback device and your phone as a server so you can use the computer as sound sink. Would not be easy on the battery, but I'd probably try digging in that direction.
I ended up using Bluetooth, I have bluez-alsa running on my laptops in sink mode so I can use any of them as a Bluetooth speaker, but that's not what you want 😕

@vftdan Oops, I didn't realize I was responding to a post this old. Sorry 😋

@vftdan
Is there any particular reason why you want to use the Linux PC for output only? Why not run mpd there so it handles everything — decoding, storage and output and control it remotely with mpd client like M.A.L.P. running on the phone?

@SuperDicq Who's the third guy? 🤔
The one in the red jacket.

Mozilla removed the extensions.unifiedExtensions.enabled about:config setting, so the ugly non-removable puzzle piece toolbar button was brought back with the wind of last update.
Okay, at least they've made it possible to move buttons of selected extensions elsewhere on the panel. Now I have to make the bookmarks bar visible to keep these buttons small. That is already a nuisance, but I also have to use CSS fix to hide the fscking extension button.
But the most fun thing I have encountered while trying to fix it is this Reddit post on the screenshot. They do really have a bot that advises you against using Pale Moon if you mentioned it. Using words like "modern web" and "fuzzing" :marseylaugh:
It looks like they are making fun of their user base on purpose: "We wonder what lengths are you willing to go just not to use the abomination that is Chrome" :marseyfacepalm:

@ikezawa Who are boatsluts? School Days fans? 🤔

@neural_meduza Как не странно, но и эта новость реальная 😩
