@grendel84 Yes, this! Then there were Gemini and Cosmo communicator by Planet Computers: https://www.www3.planetcom.co.uk/cosmo-communicator
And there is an attachable keyboard for PinePhone.
The demand isn't there for devices like that I guess. Which is odd, considering how phones became primary communication devices for so many people 🤷
@researchfairy
@millihertz Oh, come on, don't spoil the fun. Let's make it an AI-guided education. What can possibly go wrong? 🤖
@markdoyle
@mo
И… не очень-то и нужно 🤭
@neural_meduza
@hkc Mine have passphrase so cat only won't do 😼
@tulpa GeckoView (I think this is what they call it) based browsers are less popular so they are less likely to get targeted even if the design is inferior.
I also think that sandboxing as a security technique is overrated, we've seen in recent years how hardware flaws like M1racles and Spectre/Meltdown make it possible to escape the sandbox. No, it's still good, but it's not bulletproof it's often considered to be.
@tulpa If your password gets intercepted, this particular account gets compromised, even if database as a whole wasn't. If OTP gets intercepted — who cares? It's expired the next minute. Something like this I suppose 🤔
@logan
I think there is a tech like that, at least I recall reading about something similar — works supers in clear weather, but fog IS a major problem. But lasers get more powerful all the time, I think I've seen a video of production-ready Israeli AA weapon based on laser tech not long ago. So maybe one day we can have it. I doubt it'll be cheap, but sooner or later it should get affordable.
@thor
@retrosynth Recently I was looking for a screenshot of Max patch that looks overly complex and stumbled (again!) upon a Wikipedia article on Netochka Nezvanova, watched a documentary about Rebekah Wilson and thought how cool it is that Fedi still has a spirit of all that. That article also had a link to another article about the movie Decoder, which I've never watched and I think I should 🤔
@mirusu This is disgusting! I like it 🤪
@thor Seroquel/Quetiapine used to make me like that. Not anymore, I think I've got tolerant to it, sometimes I can't get any sleep with it.
@thor Yeah, makes sense. Submarine cables will be impossible to crowdfund 😅
@thor I've read A LOT of bad reviews of this product range. I think they also have a keyboard with scrub knob in the same vein. Those who are into video editing liked it a lot as it's inexpensive for such a device. All the product line is riddled with these nasty connection issues 😩
@thor Tech like this will probably make it possible: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LoRa
Mesh networks or something. It itself is proprietary, but there is an open alternative. It doesn't solve the problem of getting over the oceans 🤷
@thor Greedy capitalists embracing colder climate to save on air conditioning 🥶
@rootbsd And it's hilarious af! It could be fire, it could be turd, but in Monsterdont is's always a star 😂
@justnormalkorean @rootbsd
I feel like I'm in minority here, but why mess with cables? My TV is capable of streamingo over DLNA directly from my seedbox 😁

Just in case: DMs/PMs simply don't exist on this instance as concept — don't use them, use the other instance if you absolutely have to, or send an email to any address at m0xEE.Net or .Com or .Org, but I prefer keep most communication public.
