@ScumbagDog
I don't think I have proper equipment for that, or… 🤔
Can I use the ones printed on my curtains? 😆
@oklomsy

@DeveloperMemes
An i7, who'd want that? Give me a proper dual Xeon workstation or I'm outa here! 😎

@iska@mk.starnix.network
BTW you can even use NN and train it on tracks you have sources of or tracker music, where you can easily replace drums with meow sounds. I haven't really used anything other than libfann for OCR, but I'm pretty sure modern libraries are even more flexible — if you can feed it the source and the desired result, you can train it 🤓
@aoi@miruku.cafe

@iska@mk.starnix.network You can do it the old algorithmic way. Beat detection is rather basic thing, removal might be more complex, but still possible — Ableton Live did that long before neural nets became the buzzword. Voice removal plugins also were a thing long ago — not that good, but no one expects perfection.

Make a music player that detects beats and replaces them with meowing sound, leaves everything else intact and keeps the pitch and tempo of the original track 😼

@r000t
Oh my!
> Lack of moderation oversight for harmful ideologies
Nothing's wrong there, but they didn't promise us to remove anything we want so it's all bad!
Ok, rolling on… This is just golden:
> ive only heard of spambots and harassers being on this instance
I don't personally know anyone good enough from that instance so let's just block it! 🤦

@r000t The good cops will rid us of the bad ones. Because, you know, this Good vs Evil thing always worked so well 😂
Oh, gawd, is this even real? I know, this fediblock topic is ripe for stuff like that, but I'm not too versed in. This is pushing my idea of what unreasonable demands can be to the limit.

@enduser@berserker.town Looks like something straight out of Herbie Hancock — Rock It video 😆

@DotardTed Oh, so this is what Python Global Interpreter Lock looks like in the wild! 🤓

@alex@mastodon.scot Good question! 😅
I was planning on staying the night. Sometimes I have to respond to messages and I hate using the phone for that.
The lappy I use now is pretty smol, it's not a big hassle to just throw it in a backpack when I go somewhere.
It did come in handy when one of the guests wanted to find one particular old mix to listen to — everyone hates using phones for this stuff I guess 🤷
@thor

@alex@mastodon.scot I took my laptop to my friend's birthday party last weekend and I can't say everyone was particularly impressed by the fact that the only GUI "app" I was using was Firefox, more like weirded out. But then I used bluetoothctl to connect to the Bluetooth speaker — well, like I'm used to and they were like: "WTF?!" 😲
@thor

@Pixificial
InFURRYating!
Oh, snakes have scales so no again ☹

@vicorva My oven is a gas one. I only have it powered when I fire it up. Then I might use the power outlet for something else and the built-in timer will shut off anyway so I use my phone or computer — anything I have on hand.

@Pygoscelisadeliae
I'm not sure there is a real possibility to go to jail for music piracy nowadays. It's an exaggeration, I was talking about following advice from weird bunch that is Fedi in general 🤪

D'n'B and anything breaks-based isn't my cup of tea, when it comes to club EDM, I'm more of a Minimal/Tech House type of guy 😅
But I'll give it a listen!

@nerdtronics@mstdn.starnix.network
If you're making mixes to show off your skills and make a portfolio so you might get invited to play somewhere, high quality won't hurt anyway.
And you'll keep these tracks in your library so when high quality becomes a must, you already have them. It's the right thing to do 👍

@iska@mstdn.starnix.network
I think they aren't expensive enough for anyone to bother with piracy. WhatPeoplePlay had tracks in AIFF (basically same as WAV) for less than a dollar per track. Beatport was going to make AIFF an option, but I'm not sure if this was done — I haven't used it for over a decade 😄
If you make money by DJing in a club (otherwise high quality isn't a requitement) it just doesn't make sense to bother with torrents.

OR you could have a lot of free time. In jail!
(I agree, don't listen to them 🤭)
