My perception of it was as of a classic subversion of expectation joke: he says "hackers" and you expect "computer hackers", but in fact they are those enjoying NetHack, making the ambiguity intentional 😆
@ozzelot
It's an ambitious goal, no one succeeded delivering such an end-user device yet, but at least for tech-savvy people PostmarketOS seems almost there. The further we delay prioritising this, the more we get locked into Android — just a few years ago banks still weren't expecting you to possess a device either with Android or iOS, but nowadays it has already become problematic.
@ozzelot
Yeah, I get why a lot of people go for Google hardware — the bootloader is easily unlockable and you are free to do whatever you want with software. But to me this line of thinking is like "Stop enabling Google to exploit you for profit — pay the ransom directly instead" 🤷
It might seem like a good first step and better than nothing, but in the long run it's a dead end IMO.
We need to distance ourselves from Android entirely…

@kravietz
That is precisely why it's a PMC, P — private 😏
@gordoooo_z
Is that a Mr.Show DVD I see there? 😂
@santiago
It's exactly what they are for, e.g. on this instance full-text doesn't work, I can search through my own posts because I follow this account from my own Pleroma instance, but finding that post that I've seen on the timeline a couple of days ago is nearly impossible 😅

git commit -am "Change the indentation to 4 spaces" 😏
@Grandasse_
There is also this: https://bandwagon.fm/home
It's not Mastodon, but a different Fediverse-compatible software. I think it's still experimental, but it's designed for bands and musicians specifically.

@romin
We can pick it up, wipe the cobwebs off and find some use for it 🤷
Ooooh the Pebble is coming back. Was such a good smartwatch. Really looking forward to this. https://techcrunch.com/2025/01/27/smartwatch-pioneer-and-kickstarter-darling-pebble-is-returning-in-a-new-form/
@romin
Chyna has defeated M-Video by making their jibber-jabber thingie open sores and it turned out to be not much worse than paid-for jibber-jabber thingies.
@unspeaker
On the other hand, the same is true for other shows of Kunihiko Ikuhara: Yurikuma Arashi and Sarazanmai are also like that. IDK, maybe it's supposed to be this way.
In any case, let it not spoil the show for you as it doesn't make it any worse overall, other than the finale, the plot is great, the visuals are stunning and Etsuko Yakushimaru's music in the show's opening is top notch!
@unspeaker
Actually I really like Mawaru Penguindrum, and up to the very end the development is very consistent with lots of great twists, every 4-5 episodes you feel like opening a box containing a box that you were previously in… I have a habit of rewatching it once every few years, but last year the grand finale felt anti-climactic to me. It's supposed to be "mysterious" and all, and when I was younger it did feel that way, but now I think that it's just abrupt.
@unspeaker
> i have no idea where the… is coming from
> instead of idk watching penguindrum
Don't worry, that show makes even less sense 😂

Just in case: DMs/PMs simply don't exist on this instance as concept — don't use them, use the other instance if you absolutely have to, or send an email to any address at m0xEE.Net or .Com or .Org, but I prefer keep most communication public.
