@swaggboi
But you can get one for a year in advance and not make cron and that tiny Python script worry about its expiration every weekend 😏

Shouldn't it normally propagate the other way? 😆

Just make up a story how you stumbled upon that code on GH on random one day and forked it!
To keep yourself calm and as a coverup story just in case 😉
Problem solved 😎

@dcc
Yeah, makes sense!
To me lower memory footprint seems attractive, I also have this weird feeling the erlang's beam is just buggy on PowerPC as sometimes it gets congested for no obvious reasons. As my instance is a single user one, I don't have others to worry about and it was experimental anyway, I'm thinking of giving Mitra a try.

@dcc
On a different note, ever checked out this Mitra thing?
codeberg.org/silverpill/mitra
You probably won't like the fact that it's in Rust, but I don't care. The requirements seem even more modest than that of Plemora, but it seems just as featureful.
It doesn't have a frontend…. Well, have one that requires Node which is a no go for me, but it supports MastoAPI and I would be fine using Bloat.

@dcc
Although my memory requirements seem to only be diminishing as of recent, I agree, 14 is probably too little for a server.
This was just for the sake of the joke 😅

@meowski
A-ah, you mean the actual reason for suspension that caused the drama? I think you can find the links in the comments below the article. Sorry, I've already taken off my hazmat suit, I'm not going back there!
There is a follow-up though: theregister.com/2021/08/13/per
But I think this marks the end of story — they have ultimately dissolved the "ethics committee".
As this was three years ago, you can consider Perl safe.
@newt

@meowski
I'm unaware of the backstory more that what's in the article, I've never heard of these events and just stumbled upon it. I know @newt LOVES such things — a HUGE fan of Drew Devault, of what he does beyond the technical side of things 😂

@newt Have you seen this?

Looks like playing the game of CoC🐔 didn't work so well with the 60-year olds for some reason still working on…
🤮 …I'm sorry… Perl!

GIMP 3.0 Enters String Freeze, Inching Closer To Release: phoronix.com/news/GIMP-3.0-Str

Ya-ay! 🤩 Soon I'd be able to enjoy it natively — without all the xwayland bullshit 😏

@theorytoe
- whatever permombler uses
- the one that pelormer uses
Just take paroombler's source tree — throw away everything fedi-specific and you're all set! 🤪
