@phoenyx
"Ha-ha, but I'm not like that, I'm wiser!" 🤔
I wonder, could it have something to do with the fact that the counter in my kitchen is always littered with empty boxes when I'm cooking? 🤣

@ErictheCerise
Sure, it is a different tool! apropos searches for matching man pages and gives you summaries right from these pages' titles. And in most systems it comes together with man in the same package — so there is often no need for a separate tool, that was the point of the pun 😁

Oh, he's the substance of grace compared to mine — who can take these silly poses in order to clean themselves, then forget about it midway and keep sitting like that, or start walking around with their tongues sticking out 😹

@ErictheCerise @astrid
We used to have a tool for that, it's called "apropos" by the way 😏

Right now in Russia all other VPN protocol seem to be blocked and this time not by addresses of entrypoints but by some DPI. WireGuard over TLS works, but it only works on my phone and I have to use it as a VPN box for my home network, which is ridiculous.

As for AI, I've been quite clear — I just don't see any usage scenarios for it 🤷

@lori
That is exactly what I've told them yesterday with my answers: focus on the things you already have instead of pursuing new ones.
Being able to run bridge on 32-bit ARM would be nice as I'd like so send messages from scripts using a machine I always have on and that isn't an x86-64 machine.
Bringing WireGuard over TLS that they market as Stealth to something other than mobile phones would also be nice.

"do you see *no* practical use for LLMs at all?" (2/2)

@panorama
> каждого из участников (кроме Трампа)
Ну вот это прямо хорошо! 😂

@randahl
And comrade Xi seems to take pleasure humiliating fellow dictator like that — I think it's pretty common in their dictator circles 🤭

@randahl
And in addition to it, I believe they haven't even reached any significant agreements — except for the "Land of Big Cats", that one is really important! 😹
Domestically the propaganda in Russia will find find ways to spin Putin's visit as groundbreaking, but internationally it undeniably looks as if he's there to take a knee and lick the Chinese boot, not the meeting of equals — far from it!

Your reply set my mind off wandering and this is what I came to: you know what vacuum cleaner is called in Russian? Пылесос! Its literal translation is "dust sucker" — and it's one of the rare occasions when Russian is very on point: this thing isn't about cleaning and has little to do with vacuum — it just sucks!
In our childhood the authorities (mom) have often made us clean our rooms and made us interact with the machine for that. Some of us grew up and adopter the behaviour — doing that to their own children, turning that into a tradition. For how long are we going to live under the boot heel of the machine? We have to fight back!
But there is more! Ever wondered why the so-called vacuum cleaners were the first to adopt the so-called AI? Some say it's a mere coincidence or even technology well applied, but I don't think it is! Oppression used to be just forced labour, but in the XXI century it's surveillance! And the machine follows that to the letter! Now they spy on us and report to the corporate overlords: https://www.technologyreview.com/2022/12/19/1065306/roomba-irobot-robot-vacuums-artificial-intelligence-training-data-privacy/
What is the so-called "vacuum cleaner" called in your language? I want brave people from all around the world to start speaking out against our pneumatic oppressors that became a symbol of tyranny! We have to take our communities back!

If you're looking to host your very own single-user/a-few-users #fediverse instance, you cannot go wrong with #snac. It is simple to install on Ubuntu and works very well with some really solid clients. It is also written in C, so it is fast, with few dependencies. Great work @grunfink@comam.es, you've got a new monthly supporter on Ko-fi!

Animal feces are very eco-friendly, what is not to like? 😏

@kravietz
Of course they are strategic, but you're wrong about beef part — it's the cats!
The cats are the key and in this field an important agreement was reached 😹

@usul @gabrielesvelto
It depends on the type of software — for low-level system stuff automation itself might be a lot of fun. For web things it probably isn't.

@stormbringer
Thanks!
Looks like it's indeed broken on their end, now I have to find out how I can notify them 😄
