Please allow me to quote Yulia Navalnaya: "Stop wasting breath protecting me from Medvedev. They are putting up that small fry on purpose — so you can blow your steam off" 😅

One thing keeps surprising me — if they have expected Ukraine to start using fighters that could allow it (but not guarantee) to achieve the air superiority in more than a year since this was first announced, how did they expect for the counteroffensive to yield any significant results last year? Were they supposed to bring those SUs down from the sky with anti-air guns or the scarce Patriot missiles, of which there aren't enough even to defend the cities? 🤔
@VikingChieftain
Precisely! And it might be more efficient than tackling the problem on e.g. US level like Trump attempted to — every time such sanctions were imposed in the past, it was to mutual loss and nothing ever was achieved with it. Making them swim entirely in their own pool might bring change.

When it comes to Ministry of Education, there's even more wild shit: https://theins.ru/news/269378
A woman was forced to remove a wedding photo of her embracing a man who is now her husband for 7 years with church in the background and it was reported as "indecent".
Well, she was only ordered to provide an explanatory note, but she chose to remove the photo to avoid problems in the future as she's now pregnant.
US conservatives should definitely take notes of our "traditional" values 🤣

В нашем доме джентльменам принято верить на слово 😉

A creature even animal-rights activists would turn away from 😏
@th3rdsergeevich @inex
And even the usual "the glowies are watching me" paranoia aside — as Ministry of Internal Affairs is explicitly mentioned, it means that all this information will be on sale in shady Telegram channels right the next day — any low paygrade employee would appreciate the small bonus that is being able to provide access to this information for a few extra bucks 🤦♂️
@TylerAbeoJordan
I don't remember Google giving me any better results than DDG does in about a decade — and anything that lets me not touch Google directly is preferrable😁
But yeah, it's best to avoid them all — I never look up a page I might know a URL of, and I have searches from address bar disabled in Firefox with keyword.enabled=false
If I want to use a search engine, I have to do it explicitly and I have a dozen of shortcuts for that so if I want e.g.Wikipedia — I use its search directly.
@Anachron
In some cases letting the program read the file directly instead of spawning cat and piping its output is preferrable, but in most cases it would be precipitate optimization — always a mistake, clarity is more important. That's a valid point indeed!
We're talking shell scripts here, any optimization in absolute most cases would be ephemeral… Unless it's something like using [START..END] sequence to pass thousands of filenames as parameters instead of using a proper loop of course 🤭

Ну да, сертификат как сертификат. Единственное — он совсем свежий. Возможно, старый где-то закэшировался, но 13-ого февраля он истёк 🤔

@lyyn @Midorima1@mstdn.social @neural_meduza
@millihertz
Exactly! It's that way so it can remain competitive AND low 😩

Imagine using Google in 2024 and expecting decent results from it 😂
@kravietz
This might be that grand event to make the "re-election" look more or less legitimate. This means that taking Avdyivka wasn't considered enough even in the Kremlin — so this looks more like a desperate move to me.
> If this doesn’t serve a wake up call for Western leaders to significantly increase military support for Ukraine, then I don’t know what will — annexation of East Berlin?
I don't think I can get any more disappointed in EU, but yeah… 😅
@iska
> It's probably caused by bent pins
Thats unfortunate. Unfucking that might be tricky — it's not 486 times anymore when you could literally step on the CPU with your foot (foot cream reference) and then spend only a couple of minutes on fixing it 😆
Good luck!
@solicitor
Check this one out: https://github.com/zyedidia/micro
It has nano/pico like keybindings (as far as I can see, I haven't used nano myself in ages 😅)
And has really nice features for such a lightweight editor: color schemes, syntax highlighting, indentation and commenting out whole blocks, etc…
I can't find any uses for it myself as I have vim installed and configured on all of my machines, but somehow I still like it very much.
Maybe it would be of use to you 🤷

Just in case: DMs/PMs simply don't exist on this instance as concept — don't use them, use the other instance if you absolutely have to, or send an email to any address at m0xEE.Net or .Com or .Org, but I prefer keep most communication public.
