@iska Taking it easy takes a lot of effort 😸

Ну, в принципе, типичная карьерная история для одной там сверхдержавы 😏

Мне кажется, там этот фестиваль теперь круглосуточно проходит. А вот от приглашения я пожалуй откажусь 😅

I think it's a really bad idea to use Git to learn how VCS works — it might be versatile and very flexible when working on a complex project with a lot of branches, but it's really complicated under the hood.
And if you attempt to simplify that to the usual "pull, edit, commit, format-patch, send-email" the person might get wrong ideas about how it works and it will come back to haunt him/her later.
It's best to learn how VCS works in general on something like SVN and then learn Git.
The BBC is extending their Mastodon instance hosting trial, citing the first 6 months has been a positive experience.

Another nice utility of this kind: https://github.com/rvaiya/keyd
I'm using it to remap "k" and "l" keys which no longer work to the ones I didn't use — plenty of these on this old MacBook Pro.
It relies on low-level kernel stuff so it's limited to linux only, but it's not limited to graphical sessions and remapped keys work in the console too.
I'm not sure how it would work with the modifier keys as I have never done that myself, but shouldn't be an issue.

I won't count on it to stop the war — I think it will happen sooner or later and it would be a collapse indeed, I also think it would be triggered by a seemingly insignificant event.
So Ukraine's allies still have to step up and make sure Ukraine holds and can defend itself until that happens.

Shouldn't Fedi instances have something particular in .well-known for webfinger to work? 🤔

Aggressively Buddhist 😏
I have hard time imagining that TBH.

Oh, I see! So it's different software after all.
There used to be a popular message reader/editor for the FidoNet with the same name: https://golded-plus.sourceforge.net/
It was long ago when FidoNet was still alive — now even finding a screenshot of it is no small feat 😅
But I knew that there exists a different GoldEd, that is why I had my doubts.

Turns out, old builds are getting preserved in the F-Droid Archive repo. I've always thought that Archive repo is for software that was removed due to not being updated anymore, but TIL it's not for that only.
I have enabled it: https://f-droid.org/archive/
And now I see them all in my F-droid manager, including really old ones. I use an alternative one — Neo Store, I like its UI more and I didn't even have to add that repo, it comes preloaded with them, I only had to flip a switch 😁
@ThatCrazyDude
I can't stand listening to his his talk for two minutes when he's on TV, even for a native Russian speaker, his wording is weird to say the least, he also uses KGB gimmicks of not talking about certain things directly a lot and that simply drives me nuts.
I can't believe millions of people got through two hours of it TBH 😵
@evelyn
I still don't get what's wrong with good old 0118 999 881 999 119 725 3 😏
@AMIGAworld
OMG, GoldEd! It's the Fido message reader/editor — not some other software, right? 😲
@voron
And this incompetence in what will finish Russia off eventually — his underlings either tell him exactly what he wants to hear or their words don't reach him — those who could tell him that something is wrong are simply not heard anymore. This didn't start yesterday, but it got much worse and became much more obvious now.
@Tendar
@voron
Doesn't look that way to me — even US conservatives make fun of this interview, not of Putin or Tucker Carlson, or the lies in it — the interview itself, they aren't impressed. Kovalchuk is spot-on here — this isn't what the right wing crowd in the US has been expecting to hear.
But that's the beauty of it — authoritarian incompetence, he doesn't trust a good advice even if it comes from his inner circle, he's wallowing in his own paranoia at this point.
@Tendar
None
Just in case: DMs/PMs simply don't exist on this instance as concept — don't use them, use the other instance if you absolutely have to, or send an email to any address at m0xEE.Net or .Com or .Org, but I prefer keep most communication public.
