It's year 2023, 2024 is right behind the corner. I finally learn what REPL abbreviation stands for 😂

It's what I see quite often, but I never cared enough to look it up.

It's just Fedi being Fedi — no guaranteed means of delivery. It takes days for some replies to appear in my notifications, while I can see them on the originating instance and can even look up from mine manually by using its full url. Sometimes I don't see my replies on the instance of the one whom I've been replying to.
In part it's my instance being laggy, but I think that's often the case in general 🤷

@tk
It has always been the case — with clothes too! But somehow it's really easy to tell apart cheap clothes that look simple from expensive ones. I suppose "classic designs" just don't work so well with cheap materials 🤷

I sure am using it as an excuse to not work on something more important, but this small project is the means of procrastination, not the cause of it — if it didn't exist, I'd sure come up with something else instead 🤷
No reason to hate the small project for it — it doesn't deserve that, besides thinking about what you do as of something not important will only make life more frustrating, it won't eliminate the anxiety — the real reason for procrastination in most cases.

They are also really good at strategical planning! I mean, having in their DNA this choice of fur coat colour that allows them to be indistinguishable from furniture that only became widespread in the late XX century is something very admirable 😹

The lord of the manor says that you can keep all your December 24 & 25 flummery – the only thing he’s really interested in is Boxing Day 😽

What distro though? systemd-less flavour of Arch? 🤔
@dushman

@englishm
Yeah, did feel complete without this thing! I feel that there should also be PATA ZIF somewhere in between — but that is something that requires further research 😂

Yes, it's a late 2011 one. Sadly GPU in mine got fried just months after the replacement program got wrapped up — odd TBH as when mine wasn't collecting dust, it was heavily used for making music and I even played games one it when not at home.
I don't miss the discrete GPU itself, but if I could hook it up to external display, I could've even replaced keyboard in it. Aside from not having hardware H265 decoder, this machine isn't lacking in any aspect to me, I like it.

Always a pleasure to meet fellow PowerPC enthusiast running Void!
Maybe we should somehow coordinate our efforts — at least to provide update dotconfig files for newer kernels for the mainline void-packages and maybe even put our up-to-date xbps-packages somewhere — so each one of us doesn't have to rebuild them individually. Some software takes time to build even on modern machines, like gcc, llvm, rust, mesa, firefox… And building natively on these machines might take days 😩

@condret
I'm surprised it's still not implemented TBH.
And while I think it would struggle describing some things, it's still better than nothing and it could be used just as a base for uploader to improve by highlighting the details he wishes to.

@mirabilos
Oh, on that instance I have even less posts and followers and…When it's under load — and it's also my seedbox, printserver, it hosts SimplyTranslate and Git and few more things, I sometimes do not receive all the replies in a timely manner, I can't see all the comments in some threads — at times, I'm surprised that it works at all — still, not bad for an experiment with rare architecture: breloma.m0xee.net/users/m0xEE
Right now it's building LLVM for PPC natively so it might not even open😂

A1297 — last of the seventeen inch kind. With 16 gigs of RAM — still a quite capable machine I must say. And my battery is still at its 73% capacity.
I have two letter keys stuck, but as it runs linux now, I have easily remapped them to two unused ones — Exposé and Launchpad keys, typing texts like this is… unusual, but I mostly use it for passive browsing and watching movies in bed — its display is perfect for it.

My 500 MHz iBook G3. Recently got an Edimax USB Wi-Fi dongle for it which brought it back into modern times and along with its 4hr of battery life makes for a pretty nice laptop

@scarlett7447
What distro does it run?
I'm finishing migrating my G4 MacMini and PowerMac G5 from Void PPC port to mainline void-packages and I have to say I had to build A LOT, and to crossbuild half of it to even make it possible, and of course fix a lot of breakages, but now I have up-to-date software on my PowerPC Macs 😁
G5 is already running kernel 6.5.13 even, I don't think it would be a problem to build one for G4, but would take days, considering my Pleroma instance is running on it 😅
