@thor
It probably wasn't meant to be creepy, but yeah, it still kinda is 😄
@thor
The first one just screams "come here, let me grope you" to me. The other one reminds me of the "I know that feel, bro" meme if anything 🤣
@mjdxp
No-no-no-no-no! We do not dump our cores here😊

@scarlet I don't think that it's tamper protection, they aren't signed like packages. It's just an integrity check to make sure that the image downloaded completely and that it's same as on the other side. Archives have checksums in them, images don't, burning incompletely downloaded image would be rather frustrating.
Made sense back in the days when FTP was used to download them, with modern protocols that can resume transfer and now that only few use optical media, it's just a tradition IMO.
@loribythesea
Hey, Kirby!
There is a song named "Hey Kirby" and it's about a cat 😹

@pojntfx Now that I think about it, I've seen people coming up with worse ideas than sampling notification sounds. There is this old strategy game, Earth 2140, and it has background music featuring in game sounds. Yes, it's exactly as bad as it seems: one of the tracks had unit acknowledgement sounds — but it's not the worst part, it also had "You're under attack!", explosions and so on 😂
This made playing the game very challenging, whoever came up with it is an effing genius 🤪
@EdanOsborne
As for disclosure of IP address of the activist, I think the whole case is hugely overblown. It was only his IP-address, not contents of his messages and I think they, being an email service, are required by Swiss law to keep record of IP addresses. But what's more important, they have never claimed otherwise. They do claim it for VPN however, but that activist didn't use it. IMO it was him who should have taken precautions.
@EdanOsborne
You can have the same functionality as you would have with Bridge with hydroxide and I think it also works for free accounts as it uses the same API the web client uses, but I can't tell for sure as I've got a paid one. Check it out here: https://github.com/emersion/hydroxide
@annika
In Russian «дважды два — четыре» is often used as such, literally "two times two is four", 2 x 2 = 4. So, multiplication instead of addition.
@pojntfx
I don't know of such songs, but I sometimes get triggered on hearing what sounds like default Skype ringtone in a certain song although it's not even it 😂
@3hairymutts
But he's so handsome, give him another chance! Then another one. And another one 😹
@yukiame
Maybe I will!
Just have to finish my third watchthrough of SE:Lain — it still doesn't quite live up to the hype in my eyes, but is it really that bad as I used to believe? 😅
This time it doesn't seem that bad to me, the plot is still kinda pointless, but maybe I should just treat it the same way I treat Lawnmower Man — just something having nice aesthetics.
@gordoooo_z
Definitely not the only one! I think Pleroma (and Akkoma) servers although follow the API, give you all the replies in a thread, while Mastodon gives you only the branch you request and clients don't know how to display it correctly. Can you please keep me posted if you find a client that deals with it in a better?
@BenHigbie
There are some smol kittens in the far end 😸
Is it okay to give milk to cats living outside though? My vet told me that they might have trouble digesting milk sugar and I no longer do this.
Brief online search seems to confirm this: https://www.rd.com/article/can-cats-drink-milk/
I'm sorry if you know what what you are doing and that is lactose-free milk, but just in case.
@gordoooo_z Husky was specifically designed with Pleroma (and it's still true for Akkoma as it's a fork) in mind and supports many features Tusky doesn't like emoji reactions, but I still struggle navigating threads with multiple branches. The only better way I could come up with is using PleromaFE (its default web frontend) for such treads 🤷
@yukiame
I didn't mean to downplay his other works and I respect your opinion, what I wanted to say is that I rate Porco Rossi quite high, while not being a fan — that's it 😁
@swaggboi
As modern day emojis originated in Japan, there are still some leftovers from those times which are historically still there.
I think this is what it is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koinobori
It's not the only emoji having little to no meaning to the rest of the world's population 😅
A lot of the food emojis are considered very niche in other parts of the world, but they are still there and I think for the same reason.

Just in case: DMs/PMs simply don't exist on this instance as concept — don't use them, use the other instance if you absolutely have to, or send an email to any address at m0xEE.Net or .Com or .Org, but I prefer keep most communication public.
