@gemlog@tilde.zone I remember these guys being a bit younger 😅
They were popular in Russia in late 90-ies — early 2000-s, I doubt that many could understand the lyrics — Spanish wasn't a popular foreign language to learn at the time, but there was an MTV programme during which subtitled versions of videos were broadcasted.

@sunaonavi Если назвать нейросеть Надеждой, умрёт ли она два раза? Будет ли это значить, что у неё две жизни? 🤔

@gemlog@tilde.zone Wow, you did put it to good use!
I'm pretty sure you can do that with ffmpeg too, but it's been years since I tried that. I know ImageMagick is a great tool, but… you know, the learning curve — when you do you best not to touch something that looks too versatile and powerful, but also complex. I think I got into ffmpeg when clipping videos with avidemux got too repetitive and not precise enough, I was like "This thing just makes previews and spawns ffmpeg, why don't I do this myself?"

Just like my cat! He likes being called a sweet bunny, he's white, doesn't have a tail and LOVES having his ass slapped — he sometimes does stupid shit, but in a very unstealthy manner, so he would get noticed and punished — yeah, looks like he's into this sort of thing 😸

@gemlog@tilde.zone ffmpeg is just great — my friends think I'm weird because I clip videos using some command line incantation, but it's actually easy if you do it several times a day. ImageMagick is still uncharted territory to me though, but what I want with images is basically scaling, cropping, expanding by filling with color of choice and converting to different format — and ffmpeg does this just fine with images too.

@gemlog@tilde.zone Yeah, that's what they always do: make something "easier to use" so even non-techie could use that, but end up with something just as complex, but also a thing on its own so it leaves even a seasoned software developer puzzled about how to use that 😅

@gemlog@tilde.zone No, I mean if MS has that, LibreOffice does too — it sure does, it had some rudimentary facilities for accessing database even in StarOffice days, now AFAIK they even have a separate component for Postgres.
But I bet it would have taken you longer to figure out how to accomplish that using built-in tools 😁

@thor Wrong year, time traveller! We use ChatGPT for that nowadays 😄

@iska@mk.starnix.network Never given it a thought, but yeah it's pretty smart. Thinklight in general was so much better than back-lit keyboard, I was quite surprised to learn that they've given up on it and went with the Backlot kb 😩

@iska@mk.starnix.network ThinkPads have pretty bad touchpads. Disable it and use the space for a nice sticker, that's what I did 😁

@Mabelz Soviet flag (or is it banner?) in the background, yet pavement and cars don't look like something from Soviet era to me🤔

Likewise here, I sometimes favourite the post to show support, but only after making a comment explaining what it actually means. To make it less ambiguous, like "I know what this means, you have my support" not "I like your suffering" 😅@urusan
