@thor Sure, why not?
I even have a small cat house they cat sit in while hanging out in the bathroom 😹

@Timboslice

I was always wondering why everyone doesn't call him that 🤔

@safiuddinkhan@fosstodon.org It was really odd as I couldn't get this free game from Russian IP-address. I could get other free games, but not this one — it got added to cart and removed immediately, when I clicked the game name it didn't display the game's page — it redirected me to the game list. And gog.com was among the few exceptions on my proxy not routed through VPN, removed that and it worked. Not accepting payments from 🇷🇺 is at least understandable, but this… 🤷
Anyway, thanks for sharing, nice game!

Well, at least it's medium to medium well. I hope I'm safe 😋

Enjoying steak at 9pm might not be the brightest idea, but I didn't have proper lunch and only some light salad for supper.
And it's too late to put it back in the fridge anyway.
Looks like I'm not going to bed soon 🥩

@neglesaks@mstdn.io I love my NAD amp. Looks worn, but it still works. Old — not obsolete🧓

>imagine defending apple, on fedi
That's what I do today😅
I don't think anyone hates Apple more than I do, but higher price and lack of VGA output or wired LAN port on laptop in 2020s is hardly the main problem.

@iska@mk.starnix.network
>used windows/android things
Apple used to have better build quality, that is why even buying used stuff is not a concern. I'm not sure it's still true.
Also stock Android UI looks like horse's ass. Don't get me wrong Apple's is ugly too, and I managed to make my Android phone look at least bearable, but I've spent days on that, I'm not sure everyone is willing to jump through these hoops, most don't even change Google's fonts, which are super-ugly. Apple is slightly better in this regard

@iska@mk.starnix.network Still a white collar job 😹

@iska@mk.starnix.network Is this show something like Madoka, but with cats? 😸

@iska@mk.starnix.network Don't worry, most Russians use secondhand Apple stuff.
With laptops it's actually a wise choice, I hate buying newer models only to be the first one to discover that GPU gets fried under continuous heavy workload or that the case gets deformed in several months because the battery swelled😅
TBH Apple stuff is not that much overpriced, take price of any Mac Pro at launch and compare it to HP workstations of the same time frame — the difference is negligible.

@dallin@fosstodon.org Don't get me wrong, I'd very much prefer a real docking station like the ones I had for my Thinkpads (I'm not sure Lenovo still does that) and earlier Toshiba business models. Having single port is pretty damn close to that. Extensibility is cool — I hated early MacBook Air models as there was no way to use a Firewire soundcard at all. But having every single port imaginable on the laptop itself isn't any better — it creates even more clutter.

@dallin@fosstodon.org Nope, never used any dongles😋
I used Apple Thunderbolt Display with that laptop so the only ports I used on the laptop itself were power and the Thunderbolt port — everything else was connected to the display. The display wasn't that good, laptop too, but this setup was super-clean, nothing even remotely close to what you see in the photos. I only had to use Firewire 800 port on rare occasions when we had to go to the studio to record something — hardly a very common use case.

@dallin@fosstodon.org I never got the port rants, I gave up on Apple, but for different reasons. These photos look messy, but will that look any better if you had to plug all that stuff directly into the laptop? The 2011 model (I owned it, never used most ports in 8 years) had Thunderbolt, it means that instead of plugging all the devices in individually after taking your laptop somewhere you could use a single cable to plug everything in at once. Do you even use wired LAN outside your office/home often? 🤷

@annika This reminds me of how my friend wanted to introduce a new colleague of his to music by Richie Hawtin, the one he released under his Plastikman moniker in particular. He told her about sound design and all that, then he puts some track on as an example, most of the sounds in which are in the lower range of course. And they hear… nothing! Because the speakers he used were really bad. It was so funny 🤣

@evelyn Proton changed their brand colour to a shade of purple too. I used to like this colour when I was younger, but I grew to associate it with something unhealthy. It's odd seeing it gaining popularity as a branding colour 😏

@allenstenhaus@mastodon.xyz
I think I should make it clear, I'm not a US citizen and only so to say watch from the sidelines. I'm from the land where obtaining a gun legally is hard, illegally — not so, where sanity of an average person is highly questionable and police is ineffective despite the police state. Yes, that one😅
To me the polarization around IMO the least effective measure looks just stupid, like someone is trying to make people bash each other instead of actually doing something.
@Elizafox

@allenstenhaus@mastodon.xyz
Yup, makes sense! Could be costly and not that easy to implement, but should sound reasonable even to the ones who want to "defund the police".
This transition to non-lethal arms and mental health measures should be prioritized, gun ban shouldn't be the first option on the table, this alone won't solve the problem, but it's met with most resistance and only makes people fight each other, divides the society instead of making it move in the right direction as a whole.
@Elizafox

@allenstenhaus@mastodon.xyz
TBH, I think with this comment you are back to square one 🤭
Who will stop the person who illegally obtained an automatic rifle if even the police is not allowed to have guns? Any public event can turn into a massacre if no one is able to act until police that is allowed to have guns arrives.
Working with public mental health should be the top priority as it's core of the solution to this problem, "gun ban" is only a part of it, still, it remains the main talking point.
