Oh, it was in danger a couple of times! The MacMini that does seeding 24/7 sits on top of a book cabinet and one of my cats took a habit of jumping up there and pushing stuff — you know, doing cat things™ 😹
He even did that to the external hard drive a couple of times, but it has fallen on the table next to the cabinet so it survived. The cat learned that I don't like this habit of his and no longer does that, good cat!

There is this website — cinemaz.to, it's mostly old movies or European shows produced for internal markets and rarely known outside the country it was shot in. I enjoy such stuff! I rarely delete the files once I've downloaded something and keep seeding till kingdom come. When disk space became a problem for internal HDD, I've bought an external 2Tb one exclusively for this and moved everything there. That disk is still ok🤷

> tend to him/her 24/7
And yes, like it was said in other comments, it wasn't like that before. All the children were just playing together in the yard, even if you are busy, there were other parents to watch your child, grandparents were living nearby…
With the level of isolation we have today it always has to be their mother, but it's just wrong from mental health perspective.

@rootbsd
> Children should be homeschooled tbh, by their mothers
Isn't this a living hell for a modern woman? I have a couple of friends who are women and have children who are to go to school in a couple of years. They have kids now, but they didn't change that much, they still want to have fun, including outside their family, they still have their hobbies… They don't treat their child as a nuisance at all, but making them tend to him/her 24/7 would be really exhausting.

> Now you can just open whatsapp or telegram or whatever when you need a human contact, you can go out with your friends living across the city
Not only that! This was parodied in many comedy shows, when a family is having a dinner, but no one's talking, everyone's just using their phone — they don't want to interact even with the ones in the same room. People learned to do better since then I think, but it was a real problem a decade ago.

Some stuff has crazy ratios, it is 466,09 for Ubuntu 20.10 DVD ISO for example. Global stats are on the screenshot. I use an old G4 MacMini as a seedbox and I think I've reset the counters when I replaced Debian on that thing with Void, ~150 Tbs are still impressive 😅

In Russia most are piss-poor and you can go to prison for nothing, but you can easily get 300 Mbit/sec if you live in a large city. We don't have 5G, but LTE is super-fast.
I don't know how this shit works and why it's like this. I have a 100 Mbps connection, but I don't need it, I was on 10 Mbps until I asked my ISP to fix it a couple of years ago. Now I use it to seed illegally downloaded shows — at least it's of use to someone else 🤷

@Elizafox I think anarcho-dictatorship does make sense: it means you do not allow anyone to have state and government, even the ones who want it 🤷

@schock Sorry, I only had a Russian language version of this meme so I did a poor man's image translation.
It's highly relevant though 🤭

@LMAOYEEN
SailfishOS? Ubuntu Touch? Droidian? If your phone supports them.
You can even get Waydroid running in those and run Android apps if you wish.
You can also get yourself a Pinephone of a Librem5. I think there is a wide selection of operating systems for those as they use mainline kernel.

@LMAOYEEN
Someone on Fedi explained to me that it's the other way around: most security features in AOSP were contributed by Graphene developers.

@thor Everyone has seen this photo hundreds of times so you usually just scroll through it, but yes, if you take a look at at attentively, at the details, it's like super-cringe by today's standards 😏

@thor
In Russian there is an expression «Кому я должен — всем прощаю», literally: "To whom I owe — I forgive everyone", you act as if it's not you, but them who are indebted and you write off their debt, but in fact it's the other way round so it's pretty funny 😅

@benjancewicz
"at a real company"
The last sentence nailed it🤭

@root If you did everything under git's revision control just do a git format-patch — this creates a series of patch files that you can send to the upstream maintainers for review 🤷
If your changes weren't atomic and you have just a modified source tree, I suppose it'd be complicated…

@icedquinn
Either that or it's a Schroedinger's statement — it's universally agreed upon, but debatable 🤭
@thor

@thor
"Comic book artist" is also a widespread term, but you are right, Wikipedia even redirects that to "Cartoonist".
@bitterblossom

@pom So we need to free up some of it before we can fly someone else to it? 🤔

@hj @crazypedia
I bet 2 Girls 1 Cup made a lot of people not look up random weird shit they encounter on the interwebs 🤣
