@thor Here is a weird Russian news headline for you: "The archaeologists discovered a civilization of absolutely happy people. They were all dead" 🤪

@elb gomuks is a good TUI Matrix client. I'm not sure about spaces (I only use it for IM), but it does support E2EE. When I want as little resources as possible used, but still get notified if someone messages me and want to be able to reply quickly, I usually use it.
Even for Element I see no point in running the Electron app, why not a Firefox window with Element web app? For me it consumes less than one percent of CPU when not focused and idle.

Exactly! Most of technologies behind the modern web, the file formats, were supposed to be human-readable, but look at the source of any modern "web app" especially the javascript part — it's as readable as a disassembled binary. No one needs that anymore, but it's still there just consuming resources.

@futzle Gemini is another good example. There certainly is demand for that, but alas it's not mainstream 🤷

Compared to what some mainstream distros want now — for all the programs to bring their set of libraries with them, it's not that bad at all 😅
@retroedgetech

@thor I think it just means it should suit your team building presentation, nothing too evil 😈

@thor Mine are disciplined, but very… involved? 🤔
I think it's their breed, they love interaction. When I had only one of them, he was feeling lonely — sometimes crying when he was bored. Oh, yes, they are talkative. So I had to get him a friend. She's his niece in human terms but I don't think they care😹
Now they play a lot or just lounge around together, but they like human interaction too. When I have guests one of them is the soul of the party, the other one is more of an introvert I suppose

@thor Oh, mine are super-disciplined!
They sometimes do weird shit to get my attention, but not what cats usually do like chewing on cables, throwing stuff off the shelves, sitting on the keyboard… Love them😻

@thor Mine both take the harness and the leash well as I use it as an insurance so they don't fall off when they sit on the balcony in summer. And they used to handle the street well, I could even take them to the nearest store, but I'm not sure anymore — COVID and such, it might be a little scary for them now.

@thor Not all cats take it well, but try walking a cat on a leash in the city and you'll get everyone's attention — guaranteed! 😹

Но я громкий омут, во мне водятся ангелы!
Но они не очень 😅

Some might even remember VRML: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VRML
I bet that's not the point here though.

There were implementations even before that. Even MSN had chat rooms in which you could walk around, demonstrate some gestures, write on the walls, etc Back in 1996!
