There were times when you had pretty good chances that half your hardware won't work like soundcard or winmodem (you actually wanted it to work!) or your USB ADSL-modem. Or you had to resort to ndiswrapper to get your wired network to work, if you used that sometimes you had to use wine to actually use internet because your ISP was fucked up in the head. And you had to install adobe flash plugin to use some websites 🤪
It WAS way worse.

I feel the same about live tiles. Both iOS and Android (with any launcher) are bad it it. SailfishOS is nice, but you can't run it on any phone and apps are a HUGE problem.

On my last job I often had meetings with serious guys whose offices meant bussiness. Of course they had people who cleaned up for them and personal assistants to arrange stuff on the table, but nerver ever I've seen an office THIS clean. Sterile is a very good word for it.
In fact some offices were pretty messy, especially the part where meetings take place with heaps of printouts and all that, but we can't see this part of Bill's office, only some sofa cushions.

Some things thrown in here and there for the sake of making a cool-looking photo by the photographer. And not a very good one because even if this is a setup, items on his desk shouldn't look like some computer arranged them.

@spectra@mastodon.ml Всё так! Пока людская вера в то, что она как-то шевелится, ещё держится на подпрыгиваниях и словесных интервенциях. Но с теми отраслями, по которым есть хотя бы косвенные показатели, уже всё ясно. Думаю, уже до конца года мы увидим некое событие, которое пошатнёт эту веру.
Впрочем, из меня Ванга так себе. Лично мне казалось, что всё то, что происходит сейчас, должно было произойти ещё году в 16-ом, а оно вон как 😅

I've built a few things from sources, but not that much, like gcc, curl, git, tor, openvpn, maybe a few others.
I can't really update it as it still has kernel 2.6 and I'm too incompetent and lazy to make a device tree for a newer one. And I still use this thing daily — it has squid running on it 😳

@sai Oh, scenes like this are abundant in Monogatari series, but I find it funny how they gave the most tomboyish girl the most risqué scenes.
I really like that scenes like these, weird dialogues, funny ones and action scenes are well balanced throughout the show. I think I didn't watch the last season, have to stock up on beers or something and rewatch the whole thing someday.

@sai The particular instance of Invidious/Piped/whatever might be down and the link won't work. I always post link to YouTube, this way the extension in your browser like LibRedirect will just pick your favourite instance instead.
I don't use frontends like these at all, I prefer using youtube-dl and in this case a direct link to YouTube is also preferrable so you can just copy the link and paste it in terminal 🤷🏿
