Don't come any closer, filthy skewrl 🐿!
Deez nuts are for Fedi only, not for you!

Enjoy your vintage computers properly, preferably while touching grass. Well, not much grass here, just a pile of rotten sticks 😒

"C'mon, lie down here and chill with us, these computars ain't going nowhere"
😹

Check this out, I'm using Perlonmer in surf on a vintage ThinkPad with only 512 Mbs of RAM. It's slower than a dead snail rolling downhill from Fuji mountain, but nothing's impossible 🐌
Maybe I should even register for that challenge and write reports about these things in my gemlog. I'm using hardware like this daily anyway 🤪

— It's SDL time!
— No, Void, no!

And I have just cleaned the XBPS cache on this computer as there was not enough space to upgrade all packages 😩
Good thing, I have another x86 Thinkpad with old version of SDL2 package — not everyone's that lucky.

Don't even bother trying to become as popular on Fedi as you were on Twitter! We have a well-established food chain here, competition is harsh 😼

It's not vegetarian — yes, but it was some pig, so it's okay-ish, I guess. Unless you're a Muslim of course — in this case you can only eat *that* kind of pigs. Bug I strongly advise against doing that literally — they might shoot back if you hunt them, could be dangerous.

Meal of the day: fried curry pork with a side of diversity bulgur with vegetables and mushrooms.
No, I don't usually call it that, I came up with that name when I was taking the photo.
But I do mix several kinds of bulgur: normal and whole… (sale? 🤔 no, it's wholegrain), it's not that prominent on the photo as they get colored by seasoning, but it still looks cooler that way.

An insightful comment!

Indeed, all of this is happening almost at the same time 😔

I don't know why they sleep there. They are allowed to sleep anywhere except the desk and it's pretty hot, but they still do it 😸
They probably got used to it when they were younger and still enjoy it from time to time.

I can also use this old ThinkPad to run some nice software in Linux like Lagrange here. Oh my, it's so versatile! 🤪
No, unfortunately it is not, Intel Wireless 2100 kernel module is too buggy, all the devices use the same IRQ, in Windows it kinda works, but in Linux it causes "Fatal interrupt. Restarting Firmware" error upon association. It will still connect to the network in a few minutes, but it's not exactly the reliability everyone wants and on waking from sleep you have to do it again 😩

Okay, so there is this browser called Mypal based on a relatively modern (like 68-78) Firefox that runs in Windows XP.
I can Fedi on an old ThinkPad T40 🤪

It's Bloomsday, my du^Wgentlme^W a-ah, whatever!

I am a fan of Joyce, but always forget about it. Well, not today!
The only other time I remembered about it on 16th, not several days later, I even went to an Irish pub in Moscow, no one was celebrating and no one seeming was even aware. Well, I got drunk and had fun anyway 🥴

I did try placing a tiny piece of lead on a power plug and putting that into socket when I was young – didn't look good.
But should it really be this bad with this thing? It's like 12V 1,5 amperes or something. Also, hard to believe that these adapters aren't protected against short circuiting 🤔

Damn, I have missed the perfect opportunity to post this! Well, better late than never. It was actually this track that sparked recent resurgence of my interest in Ted's life. I've even re-read half of Industrial Society and Its Future while living in the country during COVID summer, mostly alone and with very few utilities: cold water unsuitable for drinking and even electricity wasn't always available — a very fitting atmosphere. I've been in the mood to start writing my own manifesto 😅

Okay, now it's running Void and Linux kernel 6.3 to boot! Illegal instruction occurred because some packages in Void (surprisingly, including gcc) redefine CFLAGS set in common/cross-profiles, this is why even basic stuff like procps-ng gets built broken with wrong ones.
Now I'm in the process of making a build template for accelerated X server for Tegra: github.com/grate-driver/xf86-v
Cross-building is sure complex, some such packages are marked as nocross in Void. Well, I can always build natively 😁
