I support independence of #Ukraine because I am a #Nationalist, or someone who recognizes that mono-ethnic nations are the only functional ones.

Ukrainians are different from Russians and the #Holodomor proves that, plus we know that the USSR shipped Russians into Baltic and Slavic lands in order to "Russify" them as a pretext to seizure.

What we send to Ukraine is a tiny sliver of what we spend domestically on healthcare, social security, welfare, and schools.

@amerika I'd have thought being overrun by Russins and not capitulating whould ern more respect among the 2nd amendment types but these last few years have been a let down all round.

@bquirky @amerika

I remember the USA gun-enthusiasts making fun of Ukrainians for trying to defend themselves with AR against Russian tanks.

"It will only arm the criminals.", "They will probably shoot themselves in the foot.."

@useless_idiot
Yeah, it's odd. Usually it's the left who are somewhat delusional about international matters and tend to support anyone who is not US including all sorts of dictatorships. This time for some reason it's the exact opposite.
@bquirky @amerika

@m0xee @bquirky @amerika

Some of the left is supporting the Kremlin as well. Greyzone, Jimmy Dore, etc.

Part of the right might be so disappointed and demoralized that they fell into the "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" fallacy.

@useless_idiot
Makes sense! US society looks extremely polarized, many are disappointed in the political system and I won't be surprised if Kremlin had a hand in this too or at least seized the moment and exploited it well.
@bquirky @amerika

@m0xee @bquirky @amerika

They might have a hand in it. The more mercantile and/or washed up journalists might be bribed.

In my pinned posts is an interview with an ex-KGB officer about their methods.

@useless_idiot Oh, I'm aware of their methods like no otherπŸ˜…
Russian investigative journos have even found some documents indicating Prigozhin's companies were preparing training camps in Africa for black guys to provoke the crowd during BLM protests.
The intent was definitely there, but proof that it had any effect is yet to be found. I'm never doubting their will to use underhanded tactics, but always question their competence.

@useless_idiot In Russia the regime is evil, but at least it's rotten to the core.
This makes China all the way more dangerous. They do have a degree of corruption and often do weird shit to their own that can hardly be called effective and good for the society, but they are still pretty good at that and definitely way more subtle.

China kept evolving instead of collapsing and made Communism into a mixed economy like the ones we have in the West, while retaining direct control of their lives of their citizens. A scary regime, and a subtle one.

The subverters invert your approach toward strength. This makes people fixate on the weak, sad, and doomed.

In other news, all non-monarchist systems seem to be converging, such that the difference between neoliberalism, communism, social democracy, and national socialism is now very small.

it's almost like it's some kind of global government thing

@amerika @dew_the_dew @bquirky @m0xee

I have been giving the aristocracy perspective a lot of thought, as there were many lies in the French Revolution narrative.

But I am not convinced that in a post-Christian society an aristocracy would work better than a form of democracy.

(I live in a parliamentary constitutional monarchy, it's messy. But that's probably not what you mean.)

@amerika @m0xee @dew_the_dew @bquirky
@useless_idiot> aristocracy would work better than democracy?

After reading about Alexandr Dugan's philosophy taking root in European conservatives I got curious.

I was curious how would appeal to American conservatives, since we identify with many slavic family values.

His "Fourth Political Theory" will replace communism, fascism, and capitalism with a strong dictator (Czar), church imposed social rules, no civil rights or democracy.

Sound familiar? 🀣

@DotardTed @m0xee @dew_the_dew @bquirky @useless_idiot

Parliamentary monarchies have the same troubles as any other parliamentary system.

Dugin seems to be describing National Socialism in a new form. This has no relation to what I speak of here.

* We do not want to replace capitalism; nothing else functions as well.
* Strong dictator: monarchy is a better idea since it has enduring accountability
* Theocracy: please no
* No civil rights: good
* No democracy: good!

You don't have to look too hard to see the society he is modeling it on... He's trying to become a new Rasputin?

@DotardTed @m0xee @dew_the_dew @bquirky @useless_idiot

In all seriousness, yes, sort of. His philosophy is a general argument for Eurasian domination.

@DotardTed @m0xee @dew_the_dew @bquirky @useless_idiot

I think he took it from Guillaume Faye, I think, who wanted a Eurasian empire stretching from Ireland to Siberia.

I suggested he leave off the first part.

@useless_idiot @dew_the_dew @bquirky @m0xee

In my view, humanity is always going to have some kind of religion. It is simply goind to be more folkloric and abstract in the future.

Aristocracy works better because it can make unpopular decisions, as anything long-term or realistic will be.
