Remember that there is no difference between restoring a society to the rule of law, and prosecuting people who broke the law. Zero difference.

“Truth and reconciliation” requires testimony and prosecution. They are literally the same thing. Letting criminals off the hook is the opposite of the rule of law.

"NZ is a laboratory for experiments' - from the Atlas Network's own site - experiment that are harmful to people. They want to tear down constitutional and indigenous protections that guard sovereign nations against corporate/oligarch ownership of the whole globe.

And they've fully dropped David Seymour in it for baldly lying to Mihirangi Forbes in an interview when she asked him if he or the ACT party were connected to the Atlas Network in any way. He said no. Very shamefully, NZ's civil society closed ranks around Seymour & has expelled Forbes. She need to be reinstated by the state's media with extreme haste. And all NZ Media need to disclose Atlas Network affiliation for all 'experts' they trot out. Anything less is holding the door for these pricks.

Watching an academic discussion about how the Atlas Network has chosen to use Aotearoa NZ into a petri dish for developing pseudo-independent right-wing, neoliberal institutional influence by gaming human nature. Wow. This is cold hard rational evil.

Don't lose sight of what we're fighting against.

It's about more than Congress and always has been.

I was going to retire as a coder, but AI might make me have to become a software engineer again as it takes all the coding jobs. Not that I expect many employers to know the difference.

Except, of course, for their “iron-clad support for Israel,” and defense of the wealth and power of the richest Americans, for which they are generally in agreement

Today in Labor History November 5, 1855: Eugene Debs was born in Terre Haut, Indiana. He was a labor organizer, socialist, and cofounder of the IWW. In 1894, Debs formed the American Railway Union and led a strike against the Pullman company, which manufactured passenger cars for the railroad industry. At its height, 250,000 workers participated in the strike and boycott, halting all rail service west of Detroit. The National Guard killed up to 70 men during the strike. The Pinkertons also helped suppress the strike. When it was over, President Cleveland signed legislation creating Labor Day, as a bone to organized labor, but also to undermine the much more popular, and radical, May 1st International Workers Day, which commemorated the execution of the Haymarket martyrs and the fight for the eight-hour workday.

Debs spent many years in prison on trumped up charges for organizing, or for impeding the U.S. war effort during World War I. In 1918, he was convicted under the Espionage Act, and stripped of his citizenship, for encouraging young men to refuse the draft. He also ran for President of the U.S. five times, winning 3% of the popular vote in 1904 and 1908, and 6% in 1912. In 1920, he won 3.4% of the vote from his prison cell. He died in 1926 from cardiovascular problems he developed in prison. His citizenship was not restored during his lifetime.

In Tuesday’s midterm elections, voters rejected Trump’s billionaire-backed politics and attacks on working people. The winners need to show that a different kind of politics can deliver.

Important reporting on the working conditions of the people building all those data centers. Sure, capitalism, it's exploitative, but the degree of neglect of safety standards and human rights is staggering.
