Strong management believes that the company needs you; weak management believes you need the company.

Performance review time is where weak managers want you to write your own reasons for why you're employed. "Another year of doing my job." for some reason doesn't seem sufficient justification. You have to have accomplishments, as if you really had autonomy, might be able to get paid more than average wages, or the company actually had non-management promotion paths.

Apparently the future of clothing is "smart fabric": shirts that act like computer displays, microphones stitched into single strands of fabric, clothing full of sensors and semiconductors. All I can think of is how this will be abused. washingtonpost.com/technology/

Yoda is a caricature of ESL (English as a Second Language) speakers. Does that caricature add to Yoda's mystique, or is it just another prejudice inserted into the Star Wars universe?
