Maybe after we tear off a mountaintop for strip mining coal we should replace it with garbage. Just make sure the trucks are playing John Denver on the way; "Almost heaven, West Virginia..."

Sorry...just recently drove by some new "mountains" at some central Indiana waste dumps. Always find the sod on the top beautiful as the smell drifts on the wind. /sarcasm

Is Star Trek the ultimate extension of settler colonialism? You have the Prime Directive to prevent this, but oops! Accidently violated it, and the Federation has to send it's missionaries. It happens often enough in the Star Trek universe that one has to wonder if it's not by design. Roddenberry pitching the show with Wagon Train and Horatio Hornblower reinforces the settler aspect.

Maybe "explore strange new worlds" should be cut from the mission and stay in your space become the priority.

I'm glad that articles like this by Tatum Hunter that walk you through how to opt out of cellular carrier tracking exist, but I'm sad they are necessary. This is exactly why we created the AweSIM service. washingtonpost.com/technology/

"Christianity has long been a vector distributing destruction in Indian Country" - Red Nation Rising. PM Press. Nick Estes et al.

This statement led me to consider Christianity's role in the cultural genocide of all my ancestors. Nice to see that there has been some studies of the Roman Empire's role in spreading Christianity through violence to my Scottish and Germanic forbears.

Now many can't even fathom living without a yoke.

Watching these geniuses trying to wrap their heads around the basics of our society is like watching a toddler get excited when they figure out how the volume on the TV remote works.

The problem with ESG is not that it's "woke": the problem is that it's greenwashing.

Standardised metrics won't change the fact that if you invest in an ETF that screens out fossil fuel companies, it has zero impact on how profitable polluting is.
