As we are a #FOSS community, I thought it would be a good idea to ask: Who is #hiring?
Looking for a new challenge.
I am really good at:
- #infosec marketing
- #technicalwriting
- #marketing
- #infosec
- #scripting (#python)
Hoping to bypass the HR filter. If you are #recruiting at a humane company that respects & values employees, please reach out!
(++ to anyone who picks up on my good/excessive hashtag usage)
SecureDrop is available in 21 languages, thanks to volunteer translators. Do you speak a language other than English? We're always looking for additional volunteers. See this overview by our friends at Localization Lab to get started:

As Free Software Community of India(https://fsci.in), we would like to promote Fediverse on this occassion on our blog post.
Here is a rough draft https://codema.in/d/en04tI5u/a-blog-post-promoting-fediverse-in-response-to-elon-musk-buying-twitter
Any suggestions/feedback to improve it? Trying to write concisely for new users.
From leaked #Facebook internal documents:
- It has no idea how much data it ultimately collects on its users
- Cannot control where all that data goes internally
- Ultimately does not know what happens with it
The most daunting thing for me about joining Mastodon/Fediverse was picking an instance.
Having joined one, a RL metaphor emerges for me: "it's like picking an apartment building."
You need to evaluate the management. Do they respect tenant rights? Is the desk clerk skeevy?
Do you want to live in a big impersonal complex? Or a little boarding house, where people share a lot and have house parties? You can even be a "home owner" and run your own instance (pay the bills, fix the plumbing).
FOSTA is an unconstitutional, speech-chilling law that violates the First Amendment and harms sex workers. We're still fighting it in court on behalf of our clients. https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2022/04/plaintiffs-press-appeals-court-rule-fosta-violates-first-amendment

Is Elon Musk buying Twitter really a bigger reason to leave Twitter than Twitter already was? Are you still on Facebook? Isn't Zuckerberg rich enough to leave?

The presentation is quite detailed but the first 5 slides should be enough to get the basic idea.
If you or a coop you are involved in would be interested in joining you can do so here:

This is great: "stable" coin project relies on community governance, so a hacker borrows $1b, uses it to get a 67% voting stake, votes that the project should wire them $182m, then pays back the huge loan and exits -- all in the space of 13 seconds. The "stable" coin immediately crashes.

We plan to release Tails 5.0 on May 3 or May 31. It will be the first version of Tails based on Debian 11 (Bullseye). It brings new versions of most of the software included in Tails and some important usability improvements.
You can help Tails by testing the beta for Tails 5.0 before the end of April.
Never heard of Tidelift, but I guess that's a good thing.

The Vic was an okay venue, but I like to have more elbow room in the pit. I don't think I'd go to another big name punk show there. I prefer small venues, like the Melody Inn in Indy, or one of the local bars in Lafayette.
All ages venues are a blast. It's nice to interact with the young punks and hear the energy in their bands.
