Went to the annual seed swap that the local Master Gardeners put together at the beginning of each growing season.

Free seeds. All of them.

The library was there as well and gathered up all of the thousands and thousands of seeds that were not claimed so that they could put it in the seed library!

Anyhow....

A local Beekeeping group is offering a series of classes on beekeeping!!!

I have an idea...

You know how we have community gardens? You can claim a plot and grow in the garden even if you don't have a lawn?!

They rely on the perception of power, but we outnumber them by a LOT. Also, these people are brutal and kind of petty but mostly not so smart.

I know this is not all about me, but I am here and it affects me. And I have a responsibility to decide how I react to it, and this thread is about that.

Hey WordPress admins: my site keeps pestering me to use persistent object cache to improve performance. I used Redis for a while but it made it impossible to schedule future updates - i.e., WordPress lets me schedule a new comic (for example) to show up on the site at some future date, but with Redis running, Redis doesn't notice the update and the site doesn't actually display the new post until I manually clear Redis cache.

Is there some way to fix that? It is not desirable behavior.

Just saw something come across my feed expressing alarm about the lack of street protests in the U.S. right now.

I can't guarantee that there's more or better resistance now than there was in 2017, but here's a reminder out there that there are many types of action beyond street protests.

I already know it will get enshittified. I will not give them a phone number, I don't want to get tracked and my data sold as a price of contributing to FOSS.

So yeah, I've been mostly absent from the #bevy #community for that reason.
I hope that changes one day.
